Job Description

ROLE TITLE: Assist. Manager Tire Design & Mold ManagementREPORTS TO:Manager - Design - SpecialtyLOCATION: Mumbai DATE: JOB PURPOSE:For 2D & 3D drafting, Tooling Inspection & Vendor ManagementSCOPE:DIRECT REPORTEES-TOTAL MANPOWER SPAN(Function):DIMENSIONS:Position holderInternal customersExternal customersExternal partnersProduct Design TeamPlant Mould Management TeamMould & Ancillaries SupplierPosition HolderKEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. NEW PRODUCT DESIGN:
  • Designing & drawing of tire molds and accessories (Drum, Bladder, Bead rings, Clamp Rings, BPR, Ply cuff & Plant Tooling etc.).
  • Bladder Stretch Calculation/Closing Force for Presses/Drum resting Calculation.
  • Adept in basic tire design calculation
  • Land & Sea Calculation.
  • Expertise in CAD and other advanced design tools.
  1. INSPECTION OF MOLDS & ACCESSORIES:
  • Inspection of mold, accessories & other tooling.
  • To perform regular vendor audits / inspections.
  • Assist in establishing full proof checking & inspection systems, responsible for the quality of the supplied products.
  • To closely work with the Plant workshop to incorporate changes in molds & accessories or tire machinery.
  1. TECHNICAL ECONOMY:
  • To ensure effective cost optimization
  • To reduce mold / tooling costs by design change or through development of cost-effective vendors
  1. CUSTOMER SATISFACTION
    • Develop application strategy & implement for best customer satisfaction (both internal & external).
