The Global Compliance Department identifies applicable Compliance Obligations and maintains a Firmwide Compliance Risk management program, including Compliance Risks that transcend business lines, legal entities and jurisdictions of operation.Global Financial Crimes is responsible for the development and governance of the Firms financial crime prevention efforts across all regions and business units. Global Financial Crimes is comprised of the Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Sanctions, Anti-boycott, Anti-Corruption (ACG) and Government and Political Activities Compliance (GPAC) programs.The Global Regulatory Relations Group (GRRG) is responsible for strategic and centralized management of the supervisory activities of Morgan Stanleys regulators and related developments globally, with a focus on regulatory reviews and examinations and continuous monitoring activities. GRRG serves as the central point of contact for the regulatory staff responsible for supervisory activities at Morgan Stanley entities and for timely reporting to Firm management and other governance or management bodies, as appropriate, on those relationships and supervisory processes, including areas of significant regulatory focus or concern.LCD Center of Excellence Mumbai (LCD CoE) is a part of Morgan Stanleys Global In-house Center, which provides global support to LCD and is an integral part of Firm and LCD strategy., *Team, team description and day jobTeam - Complaints Intake Team Team Description Tracking Complaints as they are received by the Firm;Checking for previous related matters in matter management systemRunning searches in Firm systems using various criteriaCreating a new record for such matters in the Firms matter management system;Maintaining lifecycle in the matter management system Assist in accurately distributing incoming matters within and outside of the groupsRunning reports in the Firms matter management systemsCollecting relevant information from the attorneys in the Litigation group in order to create such matters;Monitoring mailboxes for newly served ComplaintsReview and processing of Legal documentsCommunicate with assigned attorney regarding matterSupport ad-hoc and new BAU activities and projects that may be offshored to Mumbai LCDRequirementsExperienceQualified lawyer LLB (LLM will be an added advantage)3-5 years post qualification experience Solid track record working in a professional environmentKnowledgeFamiliarity with identifying legal documents and separating them from other correspondence Basic understanding and exposure of US Law and terminologies will be preferredShould exhibit comfort working with technology and the ability to learn and display proficiency on Firms systems and programsProficient with MS Office (Excel proficiency is required - specific focus on excel macros) Understanding of legal documents and terminologies Knowledge of document automation, contract analysis and other legaltech software an advantageSkills and QualitiesExcellent verbal and written English communication skills ability to effectively correspond with various groups and senior professionals over email and the telephonePragmatic and analytical problem-solving skills - candidate needs to consistently apply sound judgmentAttention to detailHave the ability to effectively handle a fast-paced environment Experience in stakeholder management with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues across regions and Business UnitsTeam player who can successfully manage multiple projects and prioritiesAbility to think independently, form opinions and make decisions Ability to anticipate ahead of time and escalate issues as appropriateAbility to identify and recommend process efficiencies Must be able to maintain a high level of organization under pressureSuccessfully meet established deadline requirements display efficient time management skills Possess the ability to research and resolve issues independently Have the ability to effectively handle a fast-paced environment CoverageMonday to Friday from 11:30 AM to 8:30 PM India time Coverage is dependent on business needs, so flexibility is expected Full days coverage may be required during some Indian holidays
