Job Description

Wealth Management Investment Solutions ( WMIS ) provides Wealth Management clients with investment management solutions across all major asset classes including equities, fixed income, alternatives, multi-asset and money market funds. Primary Function:The position is for an Associate in Multi- and Single-Asset Investment Research, based in Mumbai, as a member of the Investment Director Team ( IDT ) within the WMIS Investment & Research Team ( IRT ). The IDT is responsible for performing ongoing due diligence on and collaborating closely with internal portfolio management teams within WMIS, as well as for underwriting and onboarding newly developed investment strategies. The IDT reviews the portfolio management teams strategic, tactical, and vehicle/security-level decisions across traditional, multi-asset, and alternative asset classes and advises on best practices. The IRT is comprised of individuals in New York, London, and Mumbai and is highly collaborative across teams and regions. The IRT also manages the governance, operational due diligence, and research and technology efforts for Wealth Management discretionary assets. Responsibilities:

  • Devise, construct, and automate systematic tools to generate quantitative content to analyze portfolios and return streams
  • Evaluate portfolio risk characteristics and performance drivers to build an understanding of a portfolio management team s strengths and weaknesses and make data-driven recommendations
  • Perform investment due diligence on the suite of multi- and single-asset class portfolio management teams within WMIS
  • Propose process improvements and collaborate with portfolio management teams to enable those improvements
  • Advise on the development of innovative investment products and prepare them for launch through collaborative efforts with WMIS partners including Product Development, Risk Management, Operational Due Diligence, Quantitative Research, Portfolio Execution, and Legal & Compliance
  • Effectively communicate findings and recommendations to senior business leaders
  • Monitor markets to understand current drivers and market sentiment at the asset class and sub-asset class level
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor s degree; advanced degree and/or CFA charter holder preferred
  • 4 10 years of asset management experience with a strong quantitative skillset
  • Exceptional programming skills and demonstrated history of completing projects using Python (preferred), SQL, and/or Matlab
  • Advanced proficiency using and coding through various data vendors, including Bloomberg (BQL), FactSet, Morningstar, BARRA, PerTrac, etc.
  • Exceptional Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Working knowledge of funds of funds business and good understanding of fixed income, equity, and alternative asset classes
  • Background in portfolio management, research generation, or due diligence of multi-asset class portfolios
  • Ability to perform detailed and sophisticated statistical analysis relating to portfolio management across various investment strategies and styles
  • Ability to clearly and concisely develop and deliver findings and recommendations with a strong attention to detail
  • Good understanding of multi-asset portfolio construction and risk management practices
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment on a global team and balance competing priorities
  • Critical thinking skills and the ability to work through problems, develop creative solutions, and act on those ideas through completion of the project
  • Exceptionally strong verbal and written communications skills
