Members of the Operations team have a unique vantage point as the division touches all parts of the business, front to back. One of the largest divisions in the firm, Operations has diverse responsibilities, including correctly settling and recording millions of transactions per day, identifying and mitigating all operational risks, developing strong client relationships and partnering with technology to realize the full potential of IT and e-solutions. Throughout, we continually strive to improve while actively supporting the development of new businesses, structures and markets.Background on the TeamOperations Risk & Regulatory Control performs various independent functions to ensure adequate controls are in place, through providing an integrated risk and control framework to govern, assess, mitigate and manage financial and operational risk in Operations. The team focuses on implementing appropriate internal controls, business processes, and internal management reporting and analysis to mitigate operational risk and fulfil regulatory reporting requirements.Operations Change the Bank work with a variety of stakeholders including Business Units, Operations, Key Support functions and Technology & Data to deliver critical mandatory and discretionary programmes and associated benefits. The team is responsible for all phases of the change lifecycle, including strategy, inception, design, requirements, testing and implementation.Primary ResponsibilitiesThe role is for a Business Analyst within the Operations Risk & Regulatory Control Change the Bank Team. The role holder will be responsible for delivering critical business analysis to support the delivery of key work streams, Squads and Platforms/Fleets. They will be required to closely work with the product owner, customers, and team members to construct and refine the backlog, write user stories and ensure that requirements are captured correctly. They will be responsible to perform value-based analysis to help the product owner with prioritization, MVP definition and product road maps.The individual should be able to demonstrate a solid understanding of a good and appropriate acceptance criteria for an item within the sprint and get user stories to the point where they are ready for refinement. They should facilitate pre-refinement sessions and get the squad engaged in these ceremonies and ensure stories are in the correct format, and be the gate keeper that says the stories have met the definition of ready. The individual will be required to utilize proven project skills and technical knowledge to support the delivery of key initiatives. They would be expected to work in partnership with Operations, Support Functions and Technology & Data to complete all phases of the change lifecycle. The role holder should have experience of performing analysis in a complex environment, be able to demonstrate attention to detail and to evidence effective problem solving skills. They should be able to facilitate a discussion, use different techniques like brainstorming, interviewing, observation and workshops to elicit functional, technical and non-functional requirements while asking the right questions to make sure the information is relevant. A strong, pragmatic and proven understanding of the change lifecycle is essential as is the relevant technical knowledge of Financial Services and the associated regulatory environment. They would need to work as part of the Squad to help drive execution working closely with Business Units, Operations, Key Support Functions and Technology & Data., *Skills required (Essential)The ideal candidate must have:- 4+ years of overall experience which includes at least 2+ years in change management with the finance industry. Knowledge of all elements of the project lifecycle including design, requirements, testing and implementation, ideally across a range of projects Work towards a collaborative problem-solving environment in which they discuss the pros and cons of a recommendation with the technical team and come up with a solution that is both technically acceptable and viable. Able to articulate their findings into business-friendly context. This may even include visualizations and interpret them clearly and concisely. Should be able to slice and dice the data using excel, use MS Word for documentation and PowerPoint for presentation Demonstrate investigative approach, logical thinking, problem handling, and interpretation skills. Collaborate with Technology and Operations partners to prioritize and agree workload for delivery Able to assimilate multiple sources of information and provide succinct, accurate summaries and recommendations Ability to manage time and prioritize work effectively Good to have skills Expertise with an organization that transitioned from Waterfall to Agile Knowledge and/or experience with successful Agile techniques: Test Driven Development (TDD), Business Driven Development (BDD), User Stories, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, and Automated Testing Experience in using JIRA (report generation, setting up workflows, creating dashboards, Sprint Agile boards etc.) Knowledge of Financial markets and Regulatory Reporting
