Job Description

    The Role Responsibilities Risk Management
    • Responsible for understanding the Retail Lending business aspects and its implications for the Process, Governance & Assurance activities
    • To meet local regulatory requirements as they pertain to risk management, prudential standards, and governance, conduct and operational standards
    • Advise businesses on evolving themes, learning across all areas and regulatory environment
    • Identify, understand process requirements from Operations stakeholders and respective business processes.
    • Perform end to end process reviews and identify potential control gaps and possible enhancements
    • Support Operations team in conducting root cause analysis and governance of risk incident management through group risk management system
    • Conducting / participating in GBS CPBB Risk forum, highlighting key areas requiring management attention and track the actions till closure
    • Coordinate with Operations, country, and other stakeholders for appropriate action on Group Internal Audit, External audits and other relevant engagement
    • Responsible for driving appropriate culture and values within the team.
    • Promote socialisation of lessons learnt across Retail Banking Operations
    • To build and retain talent within the team
    • Able to work independently as well as a team in providing solutions as required.
    Business
    • Appraise and contribute to the development of the Banks strategic plans and alignment with risk appetite by providing support to the CPBB Business at large.
    • Identify and report key risks material to the region and challenge the First Line team to evidence that the material risks arising from their Operations processes have been identified, assessed, monitored and reported.
    • Forward looking, taking into consideration to events external to GBS which may be material to GBS. Ensure appropriate management action is being taken to mitigate their impact
    • Ensure that risk decisions are transparent and supporting rationales are explained in a professional & courteous manner, especially when turning down proposals.
    • Ensure that the Costs Budgets are met according to management targets
    Processes
    • Support the Country, Regional and Group Process and Governance teams through delivery of risk management activities.
    • Quality processing and execution of relevant key controls and checks for CPBB Teams
    • Handle all queries relating to the reports and controls checks.
    • Drive consistency and standardization of defined processes and templates
    • Present and communicate status to functional management
    • Coordination of audit reviews of shared services liaising with stakeholders to ensure timely / accurate information is provided
    People & Talent
    • Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values. Set the appropriate tone and expectations for the team and work in collaboration with risk and control partners
    • Employ, engage and retain high quality people and establish an appropriate team structure and capacity plans
    • Set and monitor job descriptions and objectives for direct reports and provide feedback and recognition in line with their performance against those responsibilities and objectives
    • Ensuring that the necessary trainings (on-the-job or classroom) are conducted to the team and provide required job knowledge.
    Other Responsibilities
    • The mitigation of risk by providing accurate and timely information necessary to support management decisions.
    • Protection of the Bank s reputation. Bank s ability to meet legal and regulatory obligations. Minimizing risk of Bank being used by money launderers.

    • Hands on working experience within the retail banking with good understanding of lending products and processes .
    • Possess a hunger for knowledge, self-initiative as well as willing to learn.
    • Understanding and experience in projects, stakeholder management will be considered a plus.
