Finance and Funding Technology Super DepartmentFinance and Funding Technology department at Morgan Stanley manages the funding for the firm while ensuring the firm has adequate liquidity for covering any liquidity risks. As a technology team, we build and own the products that are leveraged by Treasury for running stress simulations on firm positions across business units. We own multi-terabyte data warehouse and state of the art middle tier services that takes in the Firms global positions and processes through various Liquidity metrics calculation.Position DescriptionThis position is for C# .NET WPF and web development lead to join the General Ledger (GL) and Tax team. The GL and Tax team is focused on providing the technology solutions that support the firm s accounting systems including General Ledger, Allocations, Tax and Referential Data. The software developed by this team enables the Finance Division to manage and track the movement of billions of dollars in revenues and expenses. The systems are critical to the operations of the firm. We are currently building the next generation platform to improve the accuracy, performance, and integration of components. This role is based in Mumbai and requires hands on developer to be involved in the implementation of systems using AGILE development methodologies. This role requires strong technological and analytical skills combined with a drive to innovate and leverage new technologies and methodologies. The role provides the opportunity to interact with product owners from the business as well as partnering up with our monitoring and support group to grow our dev-ops capabilities. The candidate will be responsible for development of new application components as well as improving existing ones within the Controllers Workbench framework (CWB) using an agile development methodology, with particular focus on a highly test driven approach and continuous integration. Development activities will focus on priorities for the expansion of our reporting suite at the firm covering General Ledger and associated financial information.Controllers Workbench (CWB) is a flexible client UI that was developed in Finance Tech using .Net and WPF. It is a pluggable windows framework that supports reporting and control functions like adjustments, sign-off and commentary, used primarily by Finance Controllers. CWB is completely metadata driven reporting architecture, which provides reporting functionality such as Criteria (Filter) selection, Navigation, highly customized and advanced data grid, export to excel, Drill-down, custom report creation, saving a report and opening existing report. The reporting data grid is driven by Metadata, so that creating of a new report is as easy as creating a new XML file. CWB Framework supports concept of plug-in, where each plug-in can leverage all the existing functionality as mentioned above and extend it to suite it needs. The candidate will need to work closely and effectively with colleagues in Finance to understand their requirements and how these can be best achieved, and provide leadership to local and remote team members as well as having regular communication with the global development teams in New York and London. Experience with Angular and HTML5/Javascript technologies will be very beneficial for future migrations from WPF., *Required Skills Net Framework 4.0 and higher (6-8 years) Strong C# with good understanding of OOP, design patterns and multi-threading Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) with XAML Composite Application Library (Prism) Good understanding of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) Good understanding of Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) and REST services Good written and verbal communication skills Experience of full software development life cycle Ability to communicate with the business unit sponsors effectively Ability to coordinate with various teams to deliver projects successfully-Working knowledge of agile development practices including Test Driven Development, continuous integration and SCRUM Good problem solving skills Good team leading skills Desired Skills Language Integrated Query (LINQ) Infragistics WPF controls GIT Stash Jenkins Angular HTML5/Javascript Knowledge of Finance processes Morgan Stanley is an equal opportunities employer.
