  • Experience or knowledge of watershed hydrology, surface water hydraulics and sediment transport
  • Basic pipeline knowledge including pipe characteristics (wall thickness, grade, pressures, etc.), pipeline repair methods (matting, HDD, lowering, pipe supports, etc.) and pipeline fatigue forces (vortex induced vibration (VIVs), drag forces, etc.)
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and Power Point
  • Familiarity with Google Earth, ArcGIS and CAD/Civil 3D is must.
  • Familiarity with hydraulic modelling software like HEC-RAS will be an added advantage.
  • Geosciences/Engineering/Environmental Sciences knowledge with field experiences in environmental assessments and remediation would be an additional benefit.
  • Strong technical writing skills.
  • Strong focus on data skills: data engineering, management and/ or visualization. Can be in either academic or work experience.
  • Ability to translate environmental problems through digital and data solutions.
  • Commitment to data quality at all levels and scales.
  • Strong organisation skills - ability to work independently and in a team and ensure communications are effective.
  • Problem solving skills
  • Awareness of Contaminated Land Risk Assessment and Remediation technologies.
  • Work experience in environmental consultancy or environmental laboratory.
  • A positive attitude towards Health & Safety.
  • A desire to engage with a global team.
  • Proficient in commonly used Microsoft Office 365 apps.
  • Able to work independently and demonstrate initiative.

Principal Duties & Key Responsibilities:
  • Collect, manipulate, transform, organize, and analyse large and disparate environmental datasets and use BI and visualization tools to aid environmental management and decisioning. Experience with R/ MATLAB, MS Access, GIS, SQL, EQuIS, EIMS, ESdat is highly desirable but not essential. However, the ability to work on data sets with attention to detail is essential.
  • Interpret and evaluate current data and historical assessments of project sites including geology, hydrogeology, contamination risks, engineering, and other relevant/ related aspects.
  • Assist senior consultants on project delivery ensuring high quality and adherence to timelines.
  • Demonstrate ability to plan, gather, analyse, and document business information.
  • Incorporate and integrate technical knowledge with business / system requirements to provide actionable recommendations.
  • Processing data from intrusive site investigations (for example geological logs, chemical laboratory data and geotechnical data) for presentation and interpretation as required by the Project Manager using a range of software products including MS Office applications. Previous experience in use of GIS / AutoCAD software and/or EVS would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Fulfilling duties within the Arcadis business management system including the completion of mandatory training, timesheets and other submissions as required.

  • Bachelors or Master Degree in Engineering (Civil, Environment or Water Resources)
  • 2-5 years of experience working with Environmental Consultancy or any other company working in Environmental projects such as site investigations and remediation, water crossing projects, watershed hydrology, surface water hydraulics and sediment transport.
