Facing off to all Morgan Stanley businesses and interacting with all other parts of the Firm, the Operations division supports a complex, multi-faceted portfolio of businesses in full compliance with regulatory guidelines and the directives of the Operating Committee and Board of Directors. Members of the Operations team have a unique vantage point as the division touches all parts of the business, front to back. One of the largest divisions in the firm, Operations has diverse responsibilities, including correctly settling and recording millions of transactions per day, identifying and mitigating all operational risks, developing strong client relationships and partnering with technology to realize the full potential of IT and e-solutions. Team Profile Operations Risk & Regulatory Control performs various independent functions to ensure adequate controls are in place, through providing an integrated risk and control framework to govern, assess, mitigate and manage financial and operational risk in Operations. The team focuses on implementing appropriate internal controls, business processes, and internal management reporting and analysis to mitigate operational risk and fulfil regulatory reporting requirements. Operations Change the Bank work with a variety of stakeholders including Business Units, Operations, Key Support functions and Technology & Data to deliver critical mandatory and discretionary programmes and associated benefits. The team is responsible for all phases of the change lifecycle, including strategy, inception, design, requirements, testing and implementation. Primary Responsibilities The role is for a Scrum Master within the Operations Risk & Regulatory Control Change Platform. We are looking for a change agent, with a passion for collaborative working, to support our teams and improve and deliver exceptional output. The individual will work directly in a squad to drive performance using Agile values, practices, and processes. They will be working closely with the Product Owner to support the work of the squad by maintaining the backlog and facilitating Agile ceremonies like stand ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives. They will be required to monitor team performance through the Squad-s metrics dashboards and help identify continuous improvement opportunities to support the team to work smarter, and more effectively. As the Scrum Master they will also engage with the Agile Coaches to help identify and deliver against training needs to support Agile practices. The individual would be expected to establish and run an effective governance and communication structure and work with a variety of stakeholders to ensure timely and effective delivery. They would need to work as part of the project team to help drive execution working closely with Business Units, Operations, Key Support Functions and Technology & Data. A strong, pragmatic and proven understanding of the change lifecycle is essential as is the relevant technical knowledge of Financial Services and the associated regulatory environment. Skills required: - Experience working in Agile teams and an understanding of Agile practices and a proven track record of successfully delivering methodologies such as Waterfall and Agile Scrum Frameworks - Proficiency facilitating Squad meetings such as sprint planning, stand ups, retrospectives and other Agile ceremonies to ensure they are solutions-focused - Experience helping Agile teams to establish and adhere to norms and practices - Ability to collaborate with squad members on solutions to address challenges and roadblocks - A continuous improvement mind-set and dedication to finding creative ways of working - Ability to influence behaviour without having formal organizational hierarchy - A dedication to cross-function collaboration, communication and breaking down of silos - Actively create and maintain the culture within the squad based on the organization and Agile leadership behaviors - Have a track record coaching and supporting colleagues to embrace innovative changes to their working methodologies - Provide constructive feedback to team members to help drive Agile maturity - Assist Product Owner to manage and prioritize work through the backlog - Review and manage backlog items to ensure the latest work status is captured and updated as appropriate - Maintain and update squad process metrics and artifacts to ensure accurate and transparent communications to Product Owner and other stakeholders - Identify continuous improvement opportunities and best practices to progress the work of the squad - Engage with Agile Coaches to help identify and deliver against training needs to support Agile practices - Strong oral and written communication skills - Strong analytical, process and detail oriented skills - Solid stakeholder management, issue and resolution skills - Strong skills in Microsoft PowerPoint and SharePoint with overall ability for presentation-building.
