Job Description

    JOB SUMMARY: This role is key to Star Sports Ad Sales, leading customer research & analytics and sales planning. The candidate will be responsible for driving customer and industry insights to support ad monetization for the marquee portfolio of sports properties in the country such as Indian Premier League, Pro Kabaddi League, Indian Super League, English Premier League, BCCI Cricket etc. The role will also assume ownership of the annual sales planning and processes, budgeting, and partner enablement (agency / agents). This is a highly cross functional role partnering closely with Sales, Product, Finance and Legal.ABOUT THE TEAM: Sports is at the helm of change and with the dynamic landscape and increasing competition, the team thrives in building customer focused roadmaps backed with research, data and insights. Working along with Brand Solutions, Cricket and Non- Cricket segments and other business functions it offers the best overview of the Sports World and with the growth of linear television set on growth of Sports, the five-member team is fast paced and result oriented who are committed to delivering high quality and timely brand and business impact reports.REPORTING TO: Head - Product & Revenue Strategy, SportsCAREER PROGRESSION: The role offers and provides a massive exposure to be part of the changing world of Sports. As per the individual s personal and professional aspirations there may be opportunities to transition into a Product, Revenue Strategy role, or into a wider Strategy role within the organisation.KEY RESPONSBILITIES :Measure brand impact and effectiveness of advertiser investment on sports properties through various studies (e.g., Brand Lift Surveys, Neurosciences, Eye Tracking, ROI Sponsorship analysis, etc.) and by leveraging subscription tools (e.g., Data.ai, SimilarWeb, etc.).
    • Create impactful brand case studies and post evaluation reports
    Create customized narratives for key client segments, to support go-to-market pitches for sales accounts and focus on the unique value proposition of different sports properties; For e.g., but not limited to:
    • IPL as a mass reach aggregation platform, EPL and Formula 1 as high audience affinity properties for premium urban audiences, growing sports such as PKL and ISL as high value delivering events
    • Power of Sports, Power of TV, Power of HD TV, Power of Collective Viewing, etc.
    Develop annual sales target & plan towards Annual Operating Plan (AOP) for the financial year; Track progress against AOP and identify/implement strategies and tactics to align the sports sales business to strategic goals
    • Own budgets and execute partnership arrangements with media agencies or agents while working towards mutually agreed targets
    • Drive sales enablement as custodian of sales processes and systems including CRM, improving on sales cadence / coverage of accounts
    Partner with Sales to be part of Customer meetings / sales pitches Collaborate with Customer Marketing team on brand case studies for PR articles, social media infographics, industry events, etc. Help build the long-term strategy and create budget presentations for senior managementSKILLS & ATTRIBUTES FOR SUCCESS:

    • 15+ years of post-qualification experience
    • A master s degree MBA or specialization in Eco/ Math/ Stats preferred
    • Consulting experience or a strategy/insights head role with prior research experience
