Global Financial Crimes is comprised of the Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Sanctions, Anti-boycott, Anti-Corruption (ACG) and Government and Political Activities Compliance (GPAC) programs.The Global Regulatory Relations Group (GRRG) is responsible for strategic and centralized management of the supervisory activities of Morgan Stanley s regulators and related developments globally, with a focus on regulatory reviews and examinations and continuous monitoring activities. GRRG serves as the central point of contact for the regulatory staff responsible for supervisory activities at Morgan Stanley entities and for timely reporting to Firm management and other governance or management bodies, as appropriate, on those relationships and supervisory processes, including areas of significant regulatory focus or concern.LCD Center of Excellence Mumbai (LCDCoE) is a part of Morgan Stanley s Global In-house Center, which provides global support to LCD and is an integral part of Firm and LCD strategy.Primary ResponsibilitiesThe Offshore Head of Data Analytics & Metrics will be part of the core management group of LCDCoE reporting to Head of LCDCoE and would lead the team supporting Quants Modelling, Quant solutions, Data Lifecyle Management, Data Visualization and Metrics production Lead the team of data scientists / statisticians, analytics and visualization specialists building solutions and products for Legal and Compliance Division Partner with the Global Head of LCD Data and Analytics based in New York Mentor the team to act as a product owner to help build a road map and implement solutions Work with various stakeholders within the LCD Division like Financial Crimes, Compliance, Legal and IT departments to identify, assess and manage risk by evaluating large data sets using various statistical tools. Provide oversight in development, documentation and independent review of risk models levering machine learning & related quantitative techniques Provide insight on the statistical analysis of model thresholds and productivity analyses, model documentation and facilitate model validations. Lead and drive strategic initiative for the LCD Data Analytics group Build rapport with key business stakeholders, *RequirementsSkills required (essential) Candidates must have: Bachelor s or Master s degree from premier institutes in mathematics, statistics, physics, financial engineering, computer science or other quantitative fields 13 to 15 years experience and currently leading Data Analytics or Quantitative team Proficiency in applying advanced statistical analysis techniques and different Machine Learning algorithms and frameworks Experience in managing or supervising high performing staff Detail-oriented and organized with the ability to maintain attention to detail across multiple simultaneous projects Ability to analyze data and use numbers and quantitative arguments to inform strategic decisions Ability to work with global and cross-functional teams spanning Legal and Compliance, Technology and other areas of the Firm Experience with managing a metrics or Business Intelligence program Excellent written and oral communication skills Creative problem-solver with high level of learning agility and initiativeSkills Desired Strong leadership qualities with the ability to assess and develop individual skills of team members by providing timely constructive feedback Understanding of programming best practices and SDLC/ Model Ops processes Experience in Distributed Computing & Cloud technologies (Hadoop, MapReduce, Spark, Scala, Databricks , SparQL or other related technologies) to analyze and process large data sets and writing scalable and efficient code Experience in leveraging AI and ML frameworks/tools like TensorFlow, Keras, H2O or DataRobot Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with colleagues across regions and Business Units Good command over written and verbal communication Possess strong analytical thinking and critical reasoning skillsCoverageMonday to Friday from 11.00 AM to 8:00 PM India time, with flexibility on standard working hours for time sensitive matters (may include India Public Holidays). Periodic calls with AMER /Japan / EMEA internal clients
