Global Finance & Business Management ( GF&BM ) India is a combined LOB-aligned (Line of Business-aligned) finance & business support team located in India and is part of JPMorgan s global capability center (GCC). We are part of the Office of the CFO (OCFO) organization within JPMorgan, which has 13000+ people across the globe, majority of whom are tasked with managing the firm s Finance function, responsible for reporting quarterly earnings and complying with regulatory requirements along with managing the firm s capital. GF&BM India was established in September 2002 and currently we have a network of more than 3400+ professionals based out of our Mumbai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad offices who support four main pillars of work - Controllers, Planning & Analysis, Finance Operations and Business Client & Products. The teams in India are aligned to the respective LOBs that they support which include Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB), Commercial Banking (CB), Consumer and Community Banking (CCB), Asset & Wealth Management (AWM) and Corporate/Firmwide functions.We have a strong culture that embodies the principles that guide us in how we do business across the firm. About the Team The Financial Accounting, Infrastructure and Reporting team (FAIR) is accountable for the integrity of the books and records of the Firm / LOBs and leading large-scale data, infrastructure, accounting standard and business process change management events. The function enables governance of systemic and manual controls, specifically as it impacts the General Ledger, processing systems, supporting infrastructure and reporting, while also defining and implementing a global General Ledger target platform strategy. FAIR consists of two sub-organizations - one of which is Firmwide Financial Control (FFC); and the second is Firmwide Business Architecture (FBA).The FFC Organization closely examines the general ledger, operating systems and infrastructure controls across the entire lifecycle and diverse product scope of the investment bank to ensure the firm s financial information is accurately depicted for reporting and regulation purposes. This financial information is used by analysts to assess the firm s financial position; by management to make sound financial decisions; by investors to make informed decisions; and by regulators to supervise and examine the firm appropriately. The most common functions and activities owned by FAIR include but are not limited to the following: financial analysis, consolidation, reporting, balance sheet reconciliation and substantiation, general ledger reconciliation reporting & governance, inter-entity control and governance, manual accounting/bookings to the general ledger and operating systems, and executing the month end close process.The FBA Team provides a centralized program management and business analysis capability, targeted program governance, and consistent application of program management standards including system testing and change management practices, with a current focus on: overseeing the Data Acquisition framework for strategic and legacy Finance, T/CIO, and Wholesale Credit Risk platforms; deployment of the Finance Reporting Infrastructure (FRI) for regulatory and management reporting; and oversight of the Chief Data Office (CDO) for Finance and T/CIO. Additionally, the team provides oversight for stand-alone projects on behalf of the Controllers organization (e.g., Brexit, CUSA merger, CECL Reg W, Location Strategy). About the Role Primary Responsibilities:
    • Work closely with line of business controllers, financial control, middle office, technology and operations
    • Partner with FAIR teams globally
    • Manage the consolidation of JPMorgan Chase financial data at month-end for their asset class, including the ability to support month end, quarter end, and year end activities
    • Hands-on engagement in projects
    • Ability to proactively identify process and/or infrastructure enhancements and work with stakeholders enact change
    • Oversee preparation of the firms primary financial statements at quarter-end for use in the earnings release and SEC filings
    • Control post-closing entries and consolidation adjustments
    • Perform various control procedures to ensure the integrity of reported financial results
    • Manage intercompany eliminations, a key component of the financial consolidation process
    • Enhance the overall control environment around the financial reporting function
    • Mobilize change wherever possible in order to simplify processes and enhance controls
    Desired Candidate Profile:
    • Strong accounting knowledge (General Ledger)
    • Regular check-ins and Career Guidance/Discussion with junior team members and/or direct reports
    • Possess leadership attributes, time-management skills and strong understanding of the process
    • Advanced technical skills
    • Solid understanding of products (Stocks, Bonds, Loans, Derivatives, etc.)
    • 10+ years of relevant work experience in same industry or Controllership or Accounting domain
    • Build strong relationships across the team and wider firm to foster collaboration and cohesiveness
    • Ability to adapt coaching style and approach to the needs of the individual and the situation
    • Ability to create an environment where everyone can thrive to produce quality results
    • Solicit feedback from a broad range of team members to gain a fair and balanced perspective
    • Maintain understanding of the principles, methods and tools to assess the effectiveness, resiliency, vulnerabilities and risks of systems
    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related business field
    • Chartered Accountant or equivalent degree from any other university
    • In-depth knowledge of industry standards and regulations for US GAAP &/or IFRS Standards
    Shift Timing:
    • Largely EMEA shifts 2 pm to 11 pm. This stretches by few hours at each month end & Quarter ends
    • We do have Asia regional support as well, which requires to start by 9.30 10 am.
    • Depending on role requirements & clients supported, timing may vary but largely falls in line with what s mentioned above.
