Job Description

    Working in Application Support means youll use both creative and critical thinking skills to maintain application systems that are crucial to the daily operations of the firm. Youll work collaboratively in teams on a wide range of projects based on your primary area of focus: design or programming. While learning to fix application and data issues as they arise, youll also gain exposure to software development, testing, deployment, maintenance, and improvement, in addition to production lifecycle methodologies and risk guidelines. Finally, youll have the opportunity to develop professionally and to grow your career in any direction you choose.This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:
    • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
    • Basic knowledge of application development
    • Working knowledge in one or more general purpose programming languages, plus an interest in learning other coding languages and skills as needed
    • Working knowledge of development toolset to design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software
    • Ability to work collaboratively in teams and develop meaningful relationships to achieve common goals
    • Working as part of a global team, providing much needed support across differing timezones
    • Working closely with the business, technical and BA teams to provide level-I and II support cover.
    • User support: new user on-boarding, resolving the user queries and issues
    • Application support: analyze, debug and fixing config issues and escalate code changes to developers
    • Batch support: debugging and fixing issues related to data feed and other data quality issues
    • Support process: Monitoring processes, jobs and logs, issue tracking, knowledge building, weekend checks, participation in release process
    • The designing and development of a robust and efficient monitoring tools/scripts to avoid manual intervention to the system and to fix repetitive issues
    • Taking ownership of common support process improvement initiatives and driving them through to completion
    • Good to have: KDB/Q knowledge
