Job ID: JR0152163Job Category: EngineeringPrimary Location: Mumbai, MM INOther Locations:Job Type: Experienced HireHardware PAEJob Description1.Hardware Platform Application Engineer (PAE) will act as a consultant and Platform Hardware design engineer who will provide support to Intel customers, ODM/OEMs & other design partners including third party product developers to drive platform Hardware solutions for Intel. 2.The HW PAE shall be responsible for proactive management of all aspects of the HW development of Intel server boards and systems with our customers3.Work with customers to co-develop, debug, optimize solutions on Intel platforms.4.Need to support and influence customers during all phases of HW development cycle incl. feature definition, project setup, project execution, tech support for go-to-market; Provide technical training, consultation, and hands-on assistance to HW designers in areas of product architecture, technologies, system definition, board/PCB design, CAD layout, SI/PI simulations, testing and debugging the IA-based designs. 5.Need to represent customer across multiple business units and provide the customer needs/requirements to engineering teams and ensure business success6.Need to work with internal and external architects, design teams, IP and Platform designers, validation engineers, project managers etc. 7.As part of technical engagement with customers, it will be required to support product power-on, validation and debug activities.8.Participate in the design execution and architecture of new systems designs with Intel customers.9.Provide project and issue management support.10.Need to interact with the product marketing, SOC teams, and all platform teams that are integral to the launch of the products.11.As a Hardware & Intel technology expert, author technical papers and training courses and provide expertise to customers. Skills Required: 1.The successful candidate shall have demonstrated a successful track record of working with customers and design teams in advanced system products.2.Experience having worked directly with ODMs and/or customers is a key asset. 3.Experienced HW engineer with strong basis in designing PCBs, power delivery, power & signal integrity simulations, thermal & mechanical design, and system optimization and design reviews4.Design experience or working knowledge of Intel Architecture systems, chipsets, and/or processors5.System level Platform and H/W debug experience is needed.Ability to understand complex technical problems and Proven debug skills in system, platform, power design, hardware and firmware. 6.Experience in system level boot flow, BIOS knowledge and OS boot process.7.Experience in HW, firmware and Platform SW working and debugging and issues fixing.8.Experience with high speed interfaces like DDRx memory, PCI-Express, CXL and other system interfaces like LPC, SPI, I2C/SMBUS 9.Experience with Storage and network interfaces10.Experience with debug techniques and tools i.e. ITP, Python, CScripts, ASSET and IEVTS11.Experience with power/thermal utilities12.Intel hardware knowledge and debugging experience13.Linux and Windows and variants of OS knowledge is required14.Knowledge with performance benchmark, performance data collection, software workload tuning is preferred15.Relevant knowledge of processes for professional hardware development flows over a full life cycle16.Datacenter markets are fast moving, the successful candidate shall demonstrate a high level of comfort with change and change management.17.Experience with Cloud, Data Center software (OpenStack, Hypervisor or Container based Orchestration system e.g. Kubernetes, Docker, OpenFaaS) and workload (database, big data, AI) is good plus.18.Strong communication skills and ability to work within a multicultural and global team based in multiple worldwide locationsQualificationsQualificationMust possess a minimum of a bachelor s degree in Electronics Engineering / Communication Engineering / Computer Engineering / Electrical Engineering or equivalent with 8-10 years of industry experience, or a Masters/PhD Degree with 6-8 years overall experience.Inside this Business GroupThe Data Center Group (DCG) is at the heart of Intel s transformation from a PC company to a company that runs the cloud and billions of smart, connected computing devices.
