This role involves managing a team of printing technicians, ensuring the timely completion of projects, maintaining quality standards, and optimizing production efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, technical expertise in printing technologies, and the ability to effectively coordinate with various departments to meet production goals.Key Responsibilities:1.Team Management:Lead, train, and motivate a team of printing technicians to achieve production targets.Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide constructive feedback to ensure high-quality output.Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the printing department.2.Production Planning and Scheduling:Develop and implement production schedules based on project requirements, resource availability, and deadlines.Coordinate with sales, marketing, and design teams to prioritize jobs and allocate resources effectively.Anticipate potential bottlenecks and proactively resolve issues to maintain smooth workflow.3.Should be able to know and priorities which client orders should be delivered first and so on.4.Quality Control:Establish and enforce quality control standards to ensure printed materials meet client specifications and industry standards.Conduct regular inspections of printing equipment, troubleshoot technical issues, and implement corrective measures as needed.Work closely with the quality assurance team to address any discrepancies and maintain consistency in output quality.5.Resource Management:Manage inventory levels of printing supplies, such as paper, ink, and other consumables, to avoid stockouts and minimize waste.Evaluate equipment performance and recommend upgrades or replacements to enhance productivity and efficiency.Optimize resource utilization to minimize production costs while maximizing output quality and quantity.6.Health and Safety Compliance:Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations and promote a safe working environment for all printing staff.Conduct regular safety inspections, provide training on safe operating procedures, and enforce adherence to safety protocols.7.Client Communication:Serve as the primary point of contact for client inquiries, requests, and feedback regarding printing projects.Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to address client concerns, provide project updates, and ensure customer satisfaction.Qualifications:Bachelors degree in Printing Technology, Graphic Design, or a related field (preferred).Proven experience in printing production management, with a strong understanding of printing processes and technologies.Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage a diverse team and coordinate with cross-functional departments.Proficiency in print production software and tools, such as Adobe Creative Suite, RIP software, and printing press controls.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on optimizing workflows, reducing costs, and improving efficiency.Knowledge of health and safety regulations applicable to printing operations.Flexibility to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.Preferred Skills:Certification in Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies.Familiarity with digital printing technologies, variable data printing, and large-format printing.Experience with color management systems and color calibration techniques.Knowledge of sustainable printing practices and environmentally friendly materials.
