Job Description

This in turn helps us to provide better support to our broad client base.The Role ResponsibilitiesStrategyThe Data Protection Lead should help refine the Data Protection processes in the Bank and grow the Data Protection practice to be among the best in the Industry by utilising his/her sound understanding of and skills that involve::

  1. the various architectural facets of Data Protection
  2. the best practices followed in the industry
  3. Data and associated risks and controls
  4. the tools used and
  5. hands on experience in Cyber Security
Business
  • The Lead is expected to be a hands-on solution architect witch rich Risk Management expertise in the Data Protection Service Domain.
Processes
  • The Lead will have primary focus on and deliverables towards Data Discovery and Classification service and processes that works with the mandate to discover sensitive data in data stores that are on-prem or in the Cloud, and drive classification & protection of such sensitive data.
  • The Lead will need to respond to RFIs from Regulators and Auditors, respond to audits, work on key controls and risk metrics. A sound understanding of risk frameworks like NIST and data protection controls is highly desirable.
  • The Lead will also need to be adept at managing internal and external stakeholders for effective and efficient delivery of services and risk buy down for the Bank.
People and Talent
  • The Lead will have to be an excellent team player who lives our value of Better Together .
Risk Management
  • A strong foundational understanding of risk management frameworks like NIST and standards like PCI DSS is essential to be successful in the role.
Governance
  • The Lead will need to work with the team on governing the controls and the protection/remediation of sensitive data by data owners to ensure that residual risk is maintained at low level.
Regulatory & Business Conduct
  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group s Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
  • Lead to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank s Conduct Principles: [Fair Outcomes for Clients; Effective Financial Markets; Financial Crime Compliance; The Right Environment.] *
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
Key Stakeholders
  • The key stakeholders are peer teams in Data Protection, Data Protection Desk, Data Protection Service Governance, Data Protection Risk & Control, 2 nd Line of Defence [CISRO], Data Privacy, vendors
Other Responsibilities
  • The Lead will be expected to provide back end support and also cover his/her People Leader as and when required.

  • Bachelors degree is a must. Training and Certifications in Information / Cyber Security is desirable.
