  • Provide support to SCSI on a range of litigation matters.
  • Provide competent support to the business segments (Retail Bank) for documentation.
  • Implement at country level the vision, strategy, direction set by Head Legal SCB
  • Promote, lead and manage the culture and practice of Compliance and ethics to ensure the conduct of business is within legal, regulatory requirements and ethical standards consistent with supporting Group s strategic direction and growth aspirations.
Process
  • Promote active co-operation between the business and the legal team to encourage a congenial working environment across the businesses.
  • Work effectively and proactively with other support function teams to manage all legal risks
  • Drive the development and maintenance of good relationships with internal and external business stakeholders at appropriate levels ensuring an open and cooperative environment.
  • Raise awareness of, and address, legal risks and issues by following processes and improving on existing processes to address legal risk.
  • Work effectively and proactively with other support function.
  • Ensure that external legal engagements are co-ordinated and effective and provide support for panel arrangements when required.
  • Drive the development and maintenance of good relationships with internal and external business stakeholders at appropriate levels ensuring an open and cooperative environment.
Regulatory & Business Conduct
  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Groups Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
  • Lead Group Policy & Procedure team to achieve the outcomes set out in the Banks Conduct Principles on Fair Outcomes for Clients
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

  • Perform other responsibilities assigned under Group, Country, Business or Functional policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Graduate, LLB
  • Good domain knowledge in litigation data management.
  • Possess strong team player qualities, excellent interpersonal skills and multi-cultural awareness and sensitivity.
  • Sound judgment on business practices, and reputation risk.
  • Personal authority and integrity with proven ability to establish relationships and exert influence at the country level.
  • Positive and Systematic approach to work & quick adaptability.
  • Independence, robustness ethics and resilience, multi-tasking.
