Job Description

    Individual selected for this will lead team to manage MDM and catalogue to progress on our digital procurement journey. Continuously evaluate catalogue content, ensuring right content (Master data) is available to end-users and support in automation drive. Play a key role in defining and managing a Product Information Management (PIM) system.The candidate will have the following responsibilities:- Develop procurement catalogue strategy across the categories within Marine category management and supply chain, to drive procurement volume through catalogue with preferred suppliers at preferred prices.- Responsible for the management and oversight of the daily operation of the MDM initiatives, including guiding team to achieve milestones, reviewing progress, communicating priorities and reporting status.- Day in and day out MDM operation includes Item master creation and update, classification and hierarchy management, material life cycle management, material extension to supplier and business unit.- Define and drive achievement of service level performance, measured in time to complete requests and accuracy of data input, manage expectations of the organization.- Responsible for data quality management, periodic checks on data quality, define data policies and rulebook.- Guide category managers in areas of Master Data cleansing and enrichment. Identify, define and document Master Data KPIs that will drive behaviour and compliance by end users.- Implement master data in accordance with business rules and policies and enforces adherence to a strong data governance model.- Collaborate across business functions to identify opportunities for data and process integration, evaluate and make recommendations on system enhancement, data integration.- Communicate with stakeholders across the organization on a regular basis, providing visibility and insight on MDM policy changes, data issues, improved contingencies and corrective action plans as required- Cultivate and streamline catalogues for increased automation and compliance. Engage stakeholders to best manage and refine master data, have a good governance and control on catalogue and master data to facilitate procurement process.- Drive process automation within team in order to manage MDM workstream efficiently and free up resource time- Understand the companys vision, mission, and strategy; understands business unit objectives and accomplishes teams goals accordingly.- Identify and provide needed support in projects to fleet management team and category managers within MDM areas which help in standardize the Master Data and increase control.- Work with cross functional teams (internal and/or external) to lead the eCat platform implementation, and drive adoption of eCat and supporting tools, effectively applying change management principles and processes.- Preparing reports and configure dashboard in support with Digital Procurement team.- Communicate to supply chain on catalogue enhancement, build tools to support compliance and thereby maintaining close cooperation and alignment with Marine Supply Chain and Category Management Team.- Be humble, patient & keep collaborative approach when meeting various business stakeholders.We are looking for:Team lead MDM within Marine Supply Chain and Category Management team who will be dedicated to and responsible for enhancing our digital transformation journey. In addition, the team will be transforming category strategies set by Category Managers into catalogues hereunder loading, enriching catalogues with Suppliers to reach highest effectiveness and automation supporting internal processes.Qualification: Bachelors in engineering in any field, MBA preferredThe ideal candidate should have:- Overall, 8-10 years of industry experience, with 2-3 years in team leadership role within procurement function where content and category management are corner stone business enablers.- Excellent exposure in Master data management and catalogue management within procurement function and good exposure on hands free procurement process in large or medium scale organisation.- Ideas and techniques that will lay good and robust foundation of Master data in line with our hands-free procurement journey.- Good knowledge on material identification (like Electricals consumables, mechanical items etc), standards (ANSI, JIS, DIN etc), IMPA (International Marine Purchasing Association) etc.- Functional exposure on tools which are used in Master data Management (MDM) like SAP-MM, Informatica etc will be an added advantage.- Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills. VBA will be an added advantage.- Extrovert and comfortable communicating directly with suppliers, Stakeholders, Fleet and supply chain team across geographies.- Proficiency in both spoken and written English is a must.This job opening was posted long time back.
