  • Identifies and shares best practices with COO/ Head Of Operations with a view to implementing standardized, simplified and automated processes capturing data once, addressing cause not effect, minimizing non value-added and duplicated activities, reducing TAT, maximizing paperless processing & deskilling of activities
  • Engages in high level discussions with internal and external stakeholders to understand needs (including outsourcing plans) in order to develop fit for country strategies
  • Executes and implements fit for country plans that are aligned to the bank s strategy and roadmap
  • Deliver Operations business efficiency target
  • Drive adoption of digital banking initiatives, Influences stakeholders on strategy
Processes
  • Identifies opportunities for process improvements and remove process bottle necks .
  • Assess process health (through key metrics) & identify broken processes that requires redesign
  • Use stakeholders feedback Internal and external for continuously re engineer processes
  • Successfully implements best practices into own team and migrate them to other teams/ units
  • Uses customer feedback to continuously re engineer processes using digitization and straight through process approach.
  • Work with multiple teams (Technology and Operations) to arrive at the end state process
Risk Management
  • Ensures a no surprises culture no failed audits
  • Manages the maintenance of operational integrity throughout the unit
  • Understands market practices, awareness of local regulations, group and business policies, business standard procedures and best practices
  • Establishes a performance culture around Risk Management using root cause analysis and corrective action planning as key elements of operational risk management
  • Proactively identifies, assesses and mitigates risk issues
  • Timely substantiation of all accounts and reporting to finance
  • Timely escalation of all incidents to appropriate authorities as per reporting framework
  • Inculcate speak up culture across teams
  • Ensure Operational Risk policies & procedures, Risk Management Framework are effectively embedded & adhered
Transactional Processing
  • Ensure accurate posting of transactions in SCILL Systems within self-allotted authorities and for over limit after obtaining the necessary approvals with appropriate vouchers signed off.
  • Ensure error free processing for all application, Account opening process assigned to your job role and avoid any operational loss.
  • Ensure processing & adherence to internal/external policies while reviewing/verifying documents pertaining to Loans, Account Opening and Disbursal related processes.
  • Adherence to the RBI/Regulatory guidelines.
  • Ensure proper updation of all registers/system updation on a daily basis as applicable.
  • Maintain and provide data correctly and promptly to the concerned.
  • Record Archival as per laid down process/timelines
Financial Management
  • Manages and meets the unit s operations budget (including stretch budget targets) and financial KPIs
  • Beats budgets and creates scale for year on year continuous improvement
  • Consistently out-performs against budget expectations and cost objectives
  • Creates sustainable cost advantages & scale efficiencies
Regulatory & Business Conduct
  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group s Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
  • Lead the India- Lending Operations Team to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank s Conduct Principles: Fair Outcomes for Clients; Effective Financial Markets; Financial Crime Compliance; The Right Environment.
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
Other Responsibilities
  • Number, accuracy and speed of transactions processed within guidelines/ standards
  • Meeting individual service targets
  • Error rates, especially those leading to operational losses Throughput vs own capacity
  • Ideas that lead to process improvements (cost, time, service improvement)
  • Turnaround time on resolution
Our Ideal Candidate
  • Graduate from any stream preferred with any post-graduation degree
  • 5-7 years experience in Retail Lending and people manager who can manage a team
  • Able to manage costs, timelines & deliver projects
  • Able to analyze and manage risks
