Job Description

    The Marine Superintendent is a shore-based position responsible for managing and overseeing marine operations and ensuring compliance with regulatory and safety requirements.Responsibilities
    • The Marine Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the marine operations, ensuring that all activities are carried out safely and efficiently. This includes managing the vessel schedules, coordinating with port authorities, and ensuring that all vessels are maintained to the highest standards.
    • Ensure that all marine operations are carried out in compliance with regulatory and safety requirements. This includes ensuring that all vessels are certified and inspected as required by law, and that all personnel involved in marine operations are properly trained and qualified.
    • Responsible for developing and implementing policies and procedures related to marine operations, safety, and environmental compliance. This includes developing emergency response plans, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring that all personnel are trained on these procedures.
    • Must be knowledgeable about the technical aspects of marine operations, including vessel design, navigation, and communications systems. And must be able to provide technical support to vessel crews and shore-based personnel as needed.
    • Responsible for managing the budget for marine operations, including vessel maintenance, fuel, and personnel costs. Also ensure that resources are allocated appropriately to support marine operations.
    • Must liaise with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including vessel crews, port authorities, regulatory bodies, and customers. They must be able to effectively communicate with these stakeholders to ensure that marine operations are carried out safely and efficiently.
    Qualifications
    • Marine Master with sailing experience
