Job Description

    The Role Responsibilities Build and drive IMO Performance Analytics strategy in data analytics transformation & visualization; capacity optimization & productivity management; execution management and business impact assessment. Strategy
    • Envisioning, planning, and steering the strategic direction for the IMO Performance Analytics team
    • Conceptualizing data, MIS, productivity, capacity and BIA frameworks
    • Determining, calibrating, and tracking of key success parameters and metrics & risk mitigation
    • Providing thought leadership on solutions and collaborating across team and functional lines
    • Conceptualize execution plans for key metrics and drive global improvements.
    Business
    • Enabling team to understand CCIB and broader organizational agenda and how their work supports these.
    • Supporting overall IMO cost management agenda through tight budget and investment spend allocation against critical deliverables
    • Driving operational efficiency and effectiveness for processes and projects under area of responsibility
    Processes Data analytics transformation and visualization:
    • Expand and improvise the IMO standard of MIS reporting and data analytics; transform the current manual and semi-automated report using latest Business Intelligence solutions; implement state-of-the-art visualization and keep it ahead of the industry standards; publish actionable insights for effective management decisioning.
    • Build analytics standards and concepts.
    • Design processes for tracking of metrics (top-line, customer, risk, efficiency, people and cost) across value chain.
    • Steer NTB on-boarding discipline and drive turn-around time rigour for improved client experience.
    • Lead control of key risk metrics for IMO through commitment plans and tracking at Execution Management Forum.
    • Drive continuous tail management through proven data-supported analytics and business team engagement
    • Innovate ways to simplify MIS through Business Intelligence tools and making them widely and easily accessible for action.
    • Eliminate manual efforts on data collection by leveraging on enterprise wide capabilities like EDM data lake, Extract capabilities, and data insight and reporting tools.
    • Deliver periodic MIS/analytical reports across value chain including Pan-Bank MI.
    • Deliver non-scheduled (ad-hoc) and regulatory reporting requirement for the network.
    • Provide insights and highlight risks/mitigation to senior management, network, and governance forums.
    • Develop, measure and monitor KPI and KRIs for critical processes and projects.
    Capacity optimization and productivity management
    • Innovate the space of volume forecast and efforts estimation; formulation and institutionalization of individual productivity measurements; predictive analytics covering forthcoming change initiatives; support budget planning
    • Conceptualize mechanism to measure productivity of various processing teams / processors enabling opportunities for productivity improvement initiatives.
    Execution Management
    • Drive and monitor global execution to maintain healthy KPI under all the 5 dimensions Client, Efficiency, Risk, People and Cost. Formulate commitment plans with country engagements. Lead execution management forums and provide critical insights to key management forums.
    • Formulate Performance Analytics framework for processes to drive continuous improvement in its operating model and execution
    • Drive efficient functioning and delivery of the accountability regime across network
    Business Impact Assessment
    • Lead & deliver data analytics for BIA of all change initiatives impacting supported functions, segments.
    • Lead engagement with multiple change / project teams & internal stakeholders on changes impacting supported processes
    • Deliver comprehensive impact analysis covering short and long-term impacts.
    People and Talent
    • Leading through example by upholding high standards of excellence, ethics & code of conduct, governance and risk awareness, and stakeholder partnership & collaboration
    • Developing a high-quality performance team through effective and diversified hiring practices, clear guidance and feedback, training & mentorship, conducting fair and transparent performance evaluations, and frequent staff upskilling, job rotations, and stretch assignments driving the employment, engagement, and retention of high quality resources
    • Ensuring the provision of ongoing training and development of people, and ensure that holders of all critical functions are suitably skilled and qualified for their roles ensuring that they have effective supervision in place to mitigate any risks.
    • Providing effective supervision, team structure & capacity planning, succession planning, and correct allocation of work to staff vis- -vis the assessment of their strengths, abilities, and level of motivation
    • Formulating and monitoring job descriptions and objectives for direct reports and provide feedback and rewards in line with their performance against those responsibilities and objectives
    Risk Management
    • Embedding instituted processes and projects within relevant risk management frameworks, including deployment of the Operational Risk Framework, and ensuring timely, independent, and accurate execution and reporting of checks performed throughout duration of process / project ownership
    • Serving as first line control owner wherever relevant
    • Ensuring a full understanding of the risk and control environment within area of responsibility and all critical direct reports are equipped to deliver against requirements of the relevant risk and control environment applicable to their area of responsibility
    Governance
    • Assessing the effectiveness of the Group s arrangements to deliver effective governance, oversight and controls in the IMO Performance Analytics team and, if necessary, oversee changes in these areas
    • Building awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework, in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role
    • Delivering effective governance ; capability to challenge fellow executives effectively; and willingness to work with regulators in an open and cooperative manner
    • Enforcing and exemplifying strong governance and oversight across all managed projects and activities within the portfolio that is consistent with Bank and industry programme and project management standards, code of conduct, and good governance and risk management
    Other Responsibilities
    • Embedding Here for good and the Group s brand and valued behaviours in the Integrated Middle Office team
    • Performing other responsibilities assigned under Group, Country, Business or Functional policies and procedures
    Our Ideal Candidate
    • 6 years experience in analytics, and preferably in banking industry
    • Strong Knowledge of Tableau or similar visualization tools
    • Proficient in SQL
    • Knowledge of either Alteryx, SAS, R or Python
    • Experience in stakeholder management
    • Relevant analytics work experience and demonstrated career progression/increase in responsibilities
    • Strong academic record: Degree in Finance, Statistics, Computer Science or related field
    • Strong understanding of Hadoop Database
    • Understanding in emerging cloud and smart technologies such as Azure, AWS, Cognitive Automation will be an added plus
    • Experience in data commercialization facilitating partnerships and driving buy-in/adoption from stakeholders of varying levels
    • Understanding of the ETL process
    • Good presentation, time management, negotiation and influencing skills
    • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
