Job Description

    Margin Operation is a Global support function whose primary role is to mitigate credit risk through margin calls at a portfolio level. The team supports bilateral collateral arrangements for Derivatives, Repo Stock Lending and other bespoke collateral arrangements. The team is responsible for processing margin calls, dispute management, portfolio reconciliation, collateral asset management, optimisation, reporting, reviewing collateral agreement negotiations and marketing the margin function to internal and external clients. Margin Operation is within Financial Markets Operations with teams based in Bangalore, Kuala Lumpur, London, New York and Singapore, providing a full collateral service to Standard Chartered and its clientsThis role is for an individual with a background in Margin Operations who has strong Projects/ Product Owner experience to support the Chief Product Owner of Margin Ops and Digital channels in the various platform s goals and initiatives, using agile methodology. This role to assist the CPO with Product ownership and project management tasks, maximizing the business value of the product resulting from work done by the transformation teams and drive forward the deliveries, ensuring any impediments are raised and any issues resolved in a proactive way.The role calls for a self starter with proven change management experience, strong organization skills and good attention to detail to ensure that the various initiatives are managed in a controlled way, under the guidance of the CPO.Business Strategy, Operations & Infrastructure
    • This specific Project Support role will be focused on project management and product ownership aspects involving tracking action points and meeting milestones; preparing regular updates and MIS to key stakeholders, and in partnership with Technology to aid with the design and implementation of the areas prioritised initiatives
    • Scope and agree requirements with the Margin Ops function globally, liaise with Technology and with internal stakeholders, in-line with the FMO, Margin Ops, and FM strategies and Regulations
    • Together with Technology, agree a delivery plan that covers the incremental functionalities release, systems migration and people training within appropriate agreed timelines while applying Agile methodology
    • Assisting in the maintenance of prioritized Backlogs
    • Clearly communicating priorities, objectives/goals, mission and acceptance criteria to the Agile squad in the CPOs absence
    • Ensuring the Agile squad members understand items in the Product Backlogs to the level needed and leverage the wider scrum or scrum and cross streams forums
    • Ensuring deliverables are of the desired quality and have appropriate endorsements/ signoffs
    • Close engagement and collaboration with the Margin Op and related functions globally, Technology and with internal stakeholders to remove impediments to ensure the system delivered meets the requirements and is on-time,
    • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk and impediments,
    • Embed the Group s Values and Group Code of Conduct in the daily process and AGILE squad to ensure adherence with the highest standards of ethics, complying with relevant policies, processes and regulations.

    • Market Knowledge: awareness and understanding of the wider business, economic and market environment in which the firm operates.

    • This role would require 10+ years of relevant experience, covering the implementation of strategy into technology solutions, part of which is operating at the Group level of sizeable international companies
    • At least 10 years of working experience in Operations Risk, Collateral Management, Middle office and banking operations
    • Understanding of margin and portfolio reconciliation requirements under Dodd-Frank, EMIR, HKMA, MAS etc
    • Expert understanding of OTC Derivative, MTM valuation, Margining, ISDA/CSA, Repo and SBL and Trade sensitivities
    • Sound understanding of the functioning of various asset classes, Trade Life Cycle, FO & MO functions and front to bank processing
    • Sounds knowledge of industry platforms like Acadiasoft, Tri-Resolve, Bloomberg, Reuters, IM Exposure Manager etc
    • Ability to communicate effectively with peers, senior management and other stakeholders within the organisation.
    • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
    • Excellent written & spoken communication, good team player and self-motivated
    • Knowledge of operational processes, operational risks and controls
    • Proven ability to support identification of operational risks and to suggest control enhancements
    • High level of PC literacy with a strong understanding of Microsoft Products
