Job Description

    An Index and Benchmark Lead is accountable for leading an Operations function that consistently strives to re-envision processes to meet increasingly complex client and industry demands. Collaboration with Technology and J.P. Morgan Strategic Product Owners is key to maintaining alignment with the wider business strategy. Success in the role depends on being able to create an environment of continual innovation based on data interpretation, customer / stakeholder interviews and adopting latest digital technologies to delight clients and maximize profitability. Positive business impact needs to be evidenced through key performance indicators to demonstrate the value of the role to the business. Roles and Responsibilities The successful candidate will take responsibility for the following activities
    • Lead IBEX Ops : Lead onshore IBEX Ops team with break issues, new index requests and index cancellations, liaise with the business and operations teams to implement business initiatives and requirements in the firm, document standard operating procedures, identify control points
    • Benchmark additions and Changes : Work with Business groups and support functions to action and co-ordinate any new index requirements, Validating exact data requirements, liaising with Vendors, licensing and sourcing to confirm licensing status and get approval for any potential on boarding costs. Work with our aggregator Rimes to have index added to our standard index feeds.
    • Strategic System Interaction Work with the strategic BA s to ensure that any BAU issues and demands are captured in the system requirements for the strategic delivery of IBEX.
    • SME : Provide specialist and technical support for the business lines to in regard their respective indices and benchmarks, ensuring the licensing rules are enforced, regulations are upheld and business s understand the tactical and strategic implementation of the IBEX program
    • Exception Monitoring & Resolution: Lead upfront analysis of exceptions and alerts from daily data loads, identify alerts that are vendor relevant exceptions, lead vendor escalations, and coordinate and track data issue resolutions.
    • Control : Maintain standard operating procedures across Index and Benchmarks BAU functions
    • Other tasks as required
    Required Experience
    • Demonstrate a level of understanding of market reference data, and preferably a background with index processing
    • Knowledge and practical understanding of Financial Services Industry businesses (i.e., wealth management, retail, wholesale well as operations and technology functions)
    • Experience at using various market vendor terminals such as Bloomberg, FactSet, Reuters, etc.
    • Ideal candidate is likely to have previous experience either from Asset Management, Fund accounting, Hedge Funds or market data vendors
    • Good technical ability with core Microsoft products
    • Strong communications skills both written and verbal
    • Experience in liaising pro-actively with Portfolio Managers, Traders, Fund Accountants, Index Vendors, and Operational support teams
    • The individual will need to have a proactive approach and take ownership and responsibility for key tasks and issue resolution, with the ability to learn new processes quickly and execute them accurately. They will demonstrate excellent communication skills both verbal and written, and have confidence in interacting with senior management and business partner.
    • Excellent documentation, analytical, and reasoning skills (e.g., adheres to best practices in meeting management, regularly completes tasks and conducts business with no supervision over email, produces review-ready documentation
    • Awareness of data-related industry regulatory requirements and emerging trends and issues.
    • Awareness of data management practices, business and technology issues related to management of enterprise information assets and approaches related to data quality
    Qualifications, Experience & Attributes
    • Graduate / Post Graduate, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in Banking / Financial Services of which at least 3 should be in a similar role & profile. Exposure to current training methodologies is an advantage
