Job Description

Mintel is seeking a consumer research analyst to be based in our Mumbai office to create India centric consumer research reports and content on the local packaged food and drink industry. The analyst ideally will have experience working either client or agency-side in the packaged food and drink market in India. Successful candidates will need to have a combination of experience in food and drink innovation and the ability to draw actionable insights from consumer research data.They will be tasked with being the local expert in India for our clients as part of our global team. Our Global Analysts are tasked with challenging our clients ideas and thinking by providing fresh insight and analysis with impact building upon our proprietary data and consumer research studies.In this role you will:

  • Work with Mintel s international client base of major global CPG brands, supporting our account management teams through every interaction.
  • Deliver insight and analysis at the category and broader consumer level through monthly consumer research reports delivered to our clients.
  • Engage with clients by presenting these insights in person and via webinars.
  • Speak at conferences, briefings and major industry events.
Job skills:
  • Strong client development, presentation and consultancy skills.
  • Experience in working with consumer research data, either within a market research agency or as a client.
  • Ability to analyze multiple sets of data and write concise, insightful analysis.
  • Ability to be forward looking and base projections on fact, knowledge and good judgment.
  • A talent for seeing the patterns behind data and understanding what these patterns might mean for consumers and the companies serving those consumers.
  • A talent for storytelling with data.
  • Strong written English and verbal communication skills.
Experience:
  • Educated to Bachelor s degree level or a comparable degree with a minimum of 2:1 in a relevant subject.
  • Two to Five years food and drink industry knowledge gleaned from working for a food and drink manufacturer.
  • Alternatively candidates may be considered with experience in research/advertising/marketing strategy and/or consultancy, provided they have worked with clients in the food industry.
  • Experience as a market analyst or journalist for trade publications or industry specialists.
  • In depth experience of disciplines such as NPD/competitive intelligence, brand development and consumer trends.
  • Knowledge of the Indian food and drink market is a requirement.
