Job Description

    Dear Candidate,Greetings of the day!Job Title: SENIOR EPIDEMIOLOGIST
    • The primary responsibilities of the role include:
    • Lead the conduct of global database studies, including planning study design, data sources and
    • pharmacoepidemiological methods
    • Author protocols, study reports, and other scientific documents with independent and critical thinking to ensure
    • completeness and quality of deliverables within estimated timelines
    • Review and provide relevant epidemiological input to all study documents including statistical analysis plan and
    • analysis output
    • Provide scientific and methodological expertise in areas including observational study methods, statistical methods,
    • the selection of data sources and measures to ensure studies meet project objectives and regulatory requirements, as
    • applicable
    • Interact as epidemiological expert with external stakeholders
    • Contribute to generating content and direction for business development proposals
    • Manage teams at the project level and/or as a line manager in accordance with organizations policies and applicable
    • regulations
    • Provide appropriate levels of professional development and training including mentorship for junior staff
    • Lead and contribute to intra- and interdepartmental process improvement initiatives to achieve operational
    • efficiencies of workflows
    • Our ideal candidate would have the following:
    • MPH, MSc or PhD (or an equivalent degree) in epidemiology, public health or a closely related scientific discipline,
    • with sound methodological training in epidemiology or related public health area relevant to observational health
    • research
    • Substantial prior relevant post-graduate experience in real-world evidence and in designing and executing prospective
    • or retrospective epidemiological studies, including database analyses
    • Previous experience in utilizing global large-scale patient-level healthcare databases (claims, national registers, patient
    • registers, etc.)
    • Publications in peer-reviewed journals and abstracts (including presentations) in scientific conferences would be
    • meriting
    • Commitment to working collaboratively and effectively with people of other disciplines
    • Fluency in English (spoken and written) and strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Excellent time management skills, leading multiple projects with competing timelines, with the ability to effectively
    • prioritize
    • Preferred Qualities:
    • Minimum 1 year of experience in serving in a client-facing role, e.g. in a consultancy, contract research organization
    • (CRO), pharmaceutical/biotech company, or healthcare services (including non-profit organization)
    • Experience and knowledge of developments in real-world evidence within pharmaceutical industry
    • Clinical experience and understanding of drug therapies
