Job Description

    About Magic Bus- Founded in 1999, Magic Bus works with children and young people living in poverty, in India, taking them from a childhood full of challenges to a life with meaningful livelihoods. We equip children and young people in the age group of 12 to 18, with the skills and knowledge they need to grow up and move out of poverty. Children on the Magic Bus programme successfully fend off destabilizers such as child marriage and child labour to complete school and become first-generation salary earners having secure careers in the organized sector. Magic Bus is recognized by the Great Place to Work Institute as one of Indias Best Employers among Nation Builders- We are looking for a dedicated individual to the new PMO team which is an integral part of the CEOs Office within Magic Bus India Foundation. - Magic Bus is embarking on a new 5-year strategic cycle with ambitious new targets for outreach and impact and an expansion of programme portfolio, donor categories and beneficiary segments. The 5 year strategic plan entails several strategic initiatives cutting across the different functions and programmatic areas with the purpose of becoming the best implementation NGO in the country. The responsibilities of the position include setting up the PMO framework for all the strategic initiatives, providing guidance on PMO policies and processes, managing the day-to-day activities in the PMO, overseeing project management across functions and collaborating with other department leaders to identify new projects/initiatives. The position will report to the Chief Strategy & PMO. To be successful as a PMO Manager, you should demonstrate strong project management skills, leadership and communication skills. Ultimately, a top-notch PMO Manager should be well organized and able to work under pressure.The key responsibilities of the job are defined below:- End to end project management for all strategic initiatives forming part of the next 5 years scale-up strategy of Magic Bus- Collaborating with other department leaders to define, prioritize, and develop projects.- Planning project management, including setting deadlines, prioritizing tasks, and assigning team members to various deliverables. - Analyzing financial data, including project budgets, risks, and resource allocation.- Contribute to the formulation of business plans, operating plans, budgets and investments in line with the scale-up strategy and organizational goals- Assisted and advised stakeholders on the best use of project management disciplines and approaches- Overseeing the development of the project and ensuring that team members are carrying out their tasks efficiently while upholding the companys standards.- Shared lessons learned and best practices across initiatives, drafting new and improving existing project management office policies and processes. - Continuously evaluating projects to ensure they are meeting company standards, adhering to budgets, and meeting deadlines.- Accurately documenting the projects creation, development, and execution as well as documenting the projects scope, budget, and justificationRequirements :- MBA from top tier institutes (IIMs or International business schools)- 8-14 years of post-MBA experience at top consulting firms, high growth start-ups, VCs, or with Founders/ functional heads- Experience in running a project management office (PMO) / experience of managing 8-10 large business strategy/transformation engagements- A Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification may be advantageous- Understanding of NGO / Development Sector / Social sector may be advantageous - Strong leadership skills and teamwork- Disciplined and rigorous approach- Excellent organizational and technical skills- Good written and verbal communication skills- Strong attention to details and technicalities- Good interpersonal and multi-tasking skills- Systems and process-thinker; loves creating order out of chaos,
