This in turn helps us to provide better support to our broad client base.The Role ResponsibilitiesThe Global Category Manager Professional Services (PS) is responsible for the overall commercial management of how the bank engages and spends money with its third party suppliers. The role s requirements are;

  • In conjunction with Stakeholders and Regional / Global SCM teams, define and develop Property strategies for all services that outline both the market and internal characteristics of the category. Define opportunities covering the Supply, Demand and Governance aspects of the supply chain and detail the specific actions that will optimise the consumption of the category s products or services
  • Obtains endorsement and support for the Property strategies with Stakeholders and SCM regions / countries to execute on key strategic sourcing or other supply chain initiatives that will support efficiency cost reduction or risk minimisation
  • Collaborates and supports markets in their execution of regional/country initiatives aligned to the global Professional Services strategy
  • Manages supplier risk to establish a stable supply chain that allows the bank to provide uninterrupted services to its stakeholders
  • Support overall global SCM cost reduction target for the Property Category
Strategy
  • Works with Property leads to produce a needs assessment that is aligned to their business plans
  • Driving the sustainability agenda of the Bank through the implementation of specific strategies and category plans
  • Agree with Property on areas of focus to support SCB s 2030 Net Zero emissions goals and embed the necessary actions into the respective category strategies.
Business
  • Creates cost efficiencies and support expense line management by directly mapping saves to the GL
  • Meets or exceeds global category saves targets
Processes
  • Improve data quality throughout the SCM CoE Team and proactively drive better understanding and behaviours across SCM
  • Adequate knowledge on all ERP followed by the SCM team like eProcurement, SAP, Ariba to publish the matrix around these systems and understand the inter linkages between the system.
Key Stakeholders
  • Key stakeholder interactions are senior stakeholders within Property, Category Heads, SCM
  • SCM management team, SCM regional teams; Regional Heads, Regional Category Managers, In country sourcing managers
Governance and Risk Management
  • Ensures the application of effective governance and controls for supplier risk management across the bank, manage the vendor and contract management framework
  • Supports the business functional vendor management teams in day 2 supplier matters
Regulatory & Business Conduct
  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group s Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
  • Lead to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank s Conduct Principles: [Fair Outcomes for Clients; Effective Financial Markets; Financial Crime Compliance; The Right Environment.] *
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
Other responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the cost savings goal of the organization
  • Work with stakeholders to improve sourcing processes and optimize sourcing procedures to attain maximum efficiency
  • Track forecasted vs actual savings for the Category.
