Job Description

Mintel is seeking a senior research analyst to help provide India centric content and client service for Mintel s India Consumer reports as well as their global BPCH platform. Based in Mintel s Mumbai office, the senior research analyst will ideally have experience working for a BPC manufacturer/brand or a research/marketing strategy firm in the Beauty and Personal Care markets in India.While reporting in to the Head of Beauty for APAC, to help manage client support, this role helps to support the global BPC team and also have a dotted line to the Reports Manager for India in terms of content management. This role is designed to be the local India Beauty and Personal Care expert as part of our global team of industry experts.Our Global Analysts are tasked with challenging our clients ideas and thinking by providing fresh insight and analysis with impact building upon our proprietary data and analysis.In this role you will:

  • Develop and write longform reports based on Mintel s proprietary consumer and product data.
  • Comment on industry issues and trends that impact company strategy, brand development, innovation and consumer behaviour.
  • You will be using a wide range of research tools, including primary and secondary sources alongside quantitative research to create content to a monthly publishing schedule within defined BPC categories.
  • Identify/analyse market conditions and analyze product launch data .
  • Identify objectives for consumer research and develop quantitative consumer questionnaires to meet those objectives.
  • Work with both Mintel s BPCH s local Indian and international client base of major global brands, supporting our Account management teams through every interaction.
  • Help coordinate analyst support for client requests on Beauty and Personal Care topics in India by presenting these insights in person and via webinars.
  • Speak at webinars, conferences, briefings and major industry events.
Job skills:
  • 5+ years Beauty or Personal care industry knowledge gleaned from working in or with the industry
  • Ability to analyse multiple sets of data and write concise, insightful analysis
  • Data fluent with a gift for storytelling
  • Excellent writing and presenting skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to think quickly and creatively
  • Client savvy
Experience:
  • Educated to Bachelor s degree level or a comparable degree with a minimum of 2:1 in a relevant subject.
  • Candidates must have had experience working for a manufacturer or brand within the Beauty and Personal Care market.
  • Alternatively candidates may be considered with experience in Research/advertising/marketing strategy and/or consultancy, provided they have worked with clients in the industry.
  • Experience as a market analyst or journalist for trade publications or industry specialists.
  • In depth experience of disciplines such as NPD/competitive intelligence, brand development and consumer trends.
  • Good presentation skills and ability to be forward looking and base projections on fact, knowledge and good judgment.
  • Knowledge of the Indian Beauty and Personal Care market is a must.
