Job Description

  • you love writing testable, readable, maintainable code
  • you know the strengths and weaknesses of Java and are aware of how Java works under the hood
  • you enjoy developing better algorithms and data structures and can estimate time and space complexities on the fly
  • you are keen on tuning performance and profiling code
  • you are into automation and building tools
  • you are responsible, communicative and open
As part of the team, you will:
  • analyze, design and implement software, that scales to serve high load volumes or improves the ranking of results
  • improve our product in various countries
  • constantly work on efficiency and correctness of the existing software
  • constantly write/update tests and documentation
  • create/maintain automation and development tools
  • conduct peer reviews
Who are you Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of Java, ideally from having worked on highly scalable services or platforms
  • Good written and spoken English
  • Experience in at least one of the following areas: Search (esp. Lucene), machine learning, data retrieval, highly scalable / high performance services
  • Sound understanding of basic algorithms and data structures
  • Team player willing to work in multicultural environment
  • Passion to learn and work with new technologies
Plus points
  • Experience in either Python or C/C++
  • Recommendation systems
  • Ability to read Chinese
  • AWS, scripting and automation
