Job Description

    Job Title Structural EngineerJob ResponsibilityRoles & Responsibility:-Analyze configurations of the basic structural components of a building or other structure using national and international codes e.g. IS codes, EC, AISC etc.;Calculate the pressures, stresses and strains that each component, will experience from other parts of the structure due to human use or environmental pressures such as weather or earthquakes;Consider the strength of various materials, e.g. timber, concrete, steel and brick, to see how their inclusion may necessitate a change of structural designLiaise with other designers, including architects, to agree on safe designs and their fit with the aesthetic concept of the constructionExamine structures at risk of collapse and advising how to improve their structural integrity, such as recommending removal or repair of defective parts or rebuilding the entire structureMake drawings, specifications and computer models of structures and calculation and connection design reportsWork with geotechnical engineers to investigate ground conditions and analyze results of soil sample and in-situ testsLiaise with construction contractors to ensure that newly erected buildings are structurally soundApply expert knowledge of the forces that act on various structuresUse computers and computer-aided design (CAD) technology for simulation purposesPrepare foundation drawings, reinforcement drawings and general arrangement, erection, assembly, fabrication drawingsAbout The company:- Founded in 1993 with the objective of providing structural engineering services to a niche clientele of architects, XYZ (Original Name Change) has grown over the last two decades into a firm, which prides itself in serving to a wide array of clients architects, owners, institutions, developers, builders, government agencies and private entities.Our guiding principle, then, was to provide cost-effective engineering solutions to varied challenges and give great personal attention to the people we serve.
