  • Supervise, direct, motivate and support staff to increase productivity and ensure that the Departments annual objectives as well as their own individual job objectives are met.
  • Ensure continuity of operations in the absence of any Trade Operations Officer/Team Manager
  • Ensure that all Trade transactions are well within the limits as established by the Client Relationships and comply not only with the terms set therein but similarly with the UCP/URC, Group Operational Policies, GICs, BSP Circular 645, and other International or Local Trade regulations
  • Ensure that Trade Operations negotiable instruments (i.e., Manager s Cheques) are all accounted for
  • Ensure adherence to pre-set service standards and the Departmental Operating Instructions
  • Ensure that outstanding unreconciled items in the branchs nostro accounts (within the sphere of job holders responsibility) are prompt investigated
  • Ensure that all control accounts (i.e., Sundry accounts, Suspense, Charge Due, Commission receivables) are updated and all uncollected outstanding items are all accounted for and acted upon.
  • Exercise effective control over all outstanding export bills to ensure that all maturing bills are collected and/or paid on due dates.
  • Ensure that Trade transactions are processed and comply with the agreed SLA/ procedures and that all controls are implemented
  • Ensure and check prompt processing of final tax payments and remittances to Bureau of Customs
  • Ensure that Import Document checking/Acceptance under import L/C are processed promptly and checked carefully.
  • Authorizes/Approves Trade transactions up to delegated authority.
  • To proactively monitor and manage operational risks, system risks and channel risk of the products and to highlight any potential and actual breakdown of controls to Group Service Delivery and Country Operational Risk Group (CORG) via Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Risk exception reporting.
  • To ensure approved generic Product programmes and their corresponding Country Product Templates are in place before any product is accepted for implementation by Service Delivery. To refer any instances of non-compliance to Head CIC Operations, CIO and SCO for follow-up and also highlight such instances to CORG via KPIs and risk exception reporting.
  • Carry out activities/functions which may be assigned from time to time by Head, Trade Operations and/or Senior Management
Outsourcing
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with the Group Outsourcing Policy and Procedures
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with applicable local regulatory requirements, including additional conditions imposed by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas
  • Assist in the efficient implementation and monitoring of the applications/operations of the service provider
  • Ensure that all JDs, DAs and DOIs related to Outsourcing activities are in place and updated.
  • Assist in proper assessment and compliance to Group Information Security (GIS) eg. Supplier Security Capability Assessment
  • Lodge the outsourcing arrangement in the Group Outsourcing Inventory (GOI).
Business Continuity Plan
  • Contribute to the effectiveness of the department s BCP, actively participate in the BCP testing providing timely feedback on BCP matters, make themselves available during contingency situations. Should be fully conversant and knowledgeable of the most updated BCP and keeps a copy of the departments call tree readily accessible at his/her place of residence.
AML
  • Exercise due care and diligence on matters related to Money Laundering and KYC in the day to day operations, which include, account opening and review, transaction monitoring, reporting suspicions, customer communication, implementing new requirements, updating and revising operating
  • To drive and take ownership of overall effectiveness of the Anti-Money Laundering regime in the business and ensure that appropriate local procedures and internal controls that interpret the Group Policy and Standards and the local law and regulations of Money Laundering Prevention are documented, implemented, maintained and monitored and that colleagues are adequately trained.
Health and Safety
  • Take the lead in ensuring compliance to policies and procedures of the Bank, including but not limited to Group and Local Code of Conduct, Health and Safety, Diversity and Inclusion and communicating to the team, the escalation process and approval process, in case of policy breaches.
Our Ideal Candidate
  • Knowledge of practical and actual cases involving international trade to anticipate difficult situations
  • Sound knowledge of banking laws (General Banking Act) and Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas regulations as these relate to Trade Operations
  • Adequate leadership qualities, management expertise, interpersonal skills and in-depth operations experience
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles
  • Thorough knowledge of latest version of UCP, URR, URC, ISP, ISBP, URDG
  • High standards of interpersonal skills to be able to relate well with customers and staff
  • Must possess ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure environment with tight deadlines and simultaneous activities going on within the department
  • Ability to keep self updated of activities and projects being implemented in the department and spot operational risk or service issues
