It means your application has progressed to an important stage of our recruitment process.Role Responsibilities This role is within the Financial Markets business ( FM ). The individual will cater to duties and responsibilities to Global Credit Markets GCM . FM business has a footprint in over 30+ countries with an annual $5 bn revenue (1/3rd of Standard Chartered Bank s revenue), managing 500+ traders with over $265+ bn assets under their direct control. The asset portfolio comprises a wide variety of financial instruments totalling ~$80 bn in risk weighted assets. FM FP&A team supports the CFO functions providing financial insights, assessing regulatory impacts on performance and tracking progress of strategic initiatives. The incumbent is expected to have forward looking (FP&A) mindset along with the below:
    • Business Finance support for atleast one business/product within GCM and one or two Regions supporting MD level stakeholders.
    • Sound understanding of RoTE, RoRWA, Sub Optimal Deals, ECL / Cost of Credit, Margins. Product knowledge of Loans business like Financing, Syndications, O2D model, RCF s etc. An added knowledge of the Credit Trading business would be an advantage.
    • Corporate Plans, Budget Restatement, Engagement with Product/Regional CFO s on budget discussions.
    • Quarterly performance drivers and narratives, Achievements & Challenges.
    • Sharp Communication Skills. Has understanding of cracking a problem statement and explaining to the team such that outcome can be achieved quickly.
    • Continuously motivating the team on their work and emphasis on work rotation so there is back up at all times. Navigate through times when there is staff shortage due to attrition/health conditions.
    • Should have the ability to push back when something is unachievable or highlight what can be done and what cannot be done .
    • Review of monthly performance packs and coach in implementation of sound controls and consistent processes.
    • Accountable for Assets and RWA Forecast for GCM.
    • Ensure that Revenue Outlook and all its related processes are running smoothly by the team. Any escalations to be handled.
    • Understanding of cost and the various drivers for Incurred as well as Intra FM allocations.
    • Client Analytics Understanding Client performance, relationship and resource consumption.
    • Review and validation of scorecards for measuring business performance.
    • Bespoke analysis surrounding financial analytics and helping the business achieve its target.
    • SME for driving Automation and Improvement in the team.
    • Primary contact person for the business and local finance teams with regards to issues related to the business.
    • Sound knowledge of finance systems like MRC, HP, PMI, RMI and can guide the team through any issues. Such systems can be similar or benchmarked to other financial systems across organisations within the FP&A space.
    • Lead the FP&A team, Mentor new resources and nurture talent.
