Throughout, the Operations department continually seeks ways to improve while actively supporting the development of new businesses, structures and markets.Institutional Securities Group (ISG) Product OperationsISG Product Operations encompasses two functionally aligned organizations. The first, Trading & Client Operations, provides Operations functions in direct support of activity executed by Institutional Sales &Trading. The second, Clearing Operations, provides Operations functions in direct support for activity cleared by Morgan Stanley on behalf of our clients in Prime Brokerage, Listed Derivatives, and OTC Derivatives. The broad organization partners closely with Sales and Trading to develop and implement new products and services as well as drive efficiency and reduce risk in our processes. At all times we are focused on delivering quality service to clients both internal and external. ISG Product Operations partners closely with Shared Services and Banking Operations as well as Branch Operations and Operations Risk & Control to deliver a connected front to back view of operations to ISG Sales and Trading.As a Vice President within the Derivative Post Trade Operations Group, you will gain an understanding of the Equity Derivatives, Foreign Exchange and Fixed Income business and Operational best practices. You will be interacting on a daily basis with some of the Firms largest and most important clients and our Equity Derivatives, FX and Fixed Income Sales and Trading desks. Our Client base is comprised of, but not limited to, Corporate, Hedge Fund, Central Banks and Asset Management Businesses located across the globe. In addition, we are also responsible for the FX trades transacted on behalf of the Prime Brokerage Clients and other Business Units including Equities and Private Wealth Management. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all risk is fully monitored and mitigated throughout the Equity Derivatives, FX and Fixed Income trade life cycle. You will also be interacting with internal Clients such as, Trading, Sales, Technology, as well as other global MS Operations groups.For this position, knowledge of Equity Derivatives, Foreign Exchange and Fixed Income derivatives is preferred and knowledge of confirmations processes is required. Experience in supporting Corporate Clients, Hedge Funds and Money Managers preferred. Previous experience using Misys, FXAll, GTSS, Bloomberg and Omgeos ALERT, Markitwire and DSMatch is a plus., *Job Duties and Responsibilities:Management and oversight over the day to day Confirmations process for Cross asset products supported out of the India DCP Confirmations teams. Functions include:- Trade Affirmation and Trade Execution across Paper Confirmations and Electronic platforms. - Oversight on the Paper Confirmation process as and when required. - Reconciliation, documentation and settlement of proprietary and liquidity transactions- Regulatory Reporting and exception management validation of risk vs client affirmation- Production of global Metrics and reporting for the DPTO organization. - Strong client interaction- Interaction with Trading and Sales- Management and oversight of vendor partners supporting the Confirmations process. Additional qualifications:- Strong Risk Awareness and the ability to learn quickly and to understand and navigate new systems and processes to ensure guardianship is maintained. Should be able to leverage this attribute across other members of the team.- A solid understanding of the process and risks associated with the affirmation, confirmation and regulatory compliance.- Good knowledge of ISDA Definitions and the Equity Derivative, FX and fixed income market/product suite as well as great accuracy and attention to detail are essential. Prior experience in handling complex products (Interest Rates, FX, Credit, Equities or Commodities with preference for Equity, FX, Interest Rates and Credit).- Good IT skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word/Excel and the ability to understand and negotiate new systems quickly.- Proficiency in Metrics production and handling of large data across access DB and similar databases. - Ability to consider the impact of own and others actions on other teams/departments involved in the front-to-back confirmations process. Ability to push back on inappropriate requests.- Ability to multitask and prioritize workload in a high intensity environment.- Mature and professional individual with excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills who are able to communicate at all levels.- Teamwork is of great importance where sharing information is key to achieving the team objectives.- Should be able to train and supervise junior and manager level members of the team or outsourced consultants and work with their Manager to ensure they are effectively managed.
