Job Description

    The Special Assets (SA) organization is part of the Wholesale Credit Risk organization within independent Risk Management. SA partners with various Wholesale Credit Risk entities to manage Citi s Criticized and Classified credit exposures. The global team is comprised of a Global Head, Valuation and Credit Analysis Heads, Governance Head and 4 Regional Head. The Special Assets Governance team includes both Regional Governance Coordinators and Global Governance Coordinators.The Regional Governance Coordinator is an integral member of the Special Assets (SA) Governance Team, working closely with the SA Global Head, SA Region Head, Senior Transactors, Transactors, Valuation and Credit Analytics Team and SA Governance peers to help oversee governance within the region. Main responsibilities include, but are not limited to, Portfolio and Staffing Analysis including Portfolio Reviews, High Risk Review covering Cost of Credit, Account Management, coordinating Business and Regulatory request, and partnering with the Global SA Governance team on system implementation. The Regional Governance Coordinator partners with the Global Governance Coordinators and Data, Analytics, Reporting and Technology (DART) to produce and analyze portfolio related reports for Special Assets senior management to manage the firm s Classified exposure and the potential P&L impact from projected changes in the portfolio. The Regional Governance Coordinator must develop a granular understanding of the regional portfolio and help to standardize processes/systems used to manage the portfolio. The RGC must understand how Special Assets policies, processes and systems are maintained to ensure a strong partnership with the Region Head in order to provide appropriate oversight of the dynamic portfolio. To achieve these objectives, the ASPAC RGC works closely with the Special Assets EMEA/ ASPAC Governance Lead and the rest of the Governance team to ensure consistent global and regional and analysis throughout Special Assets.Job purpose and background:
    • Works closely with the Special Assets ASPAC Head and Special Assets EMEA/ ASPAC Governance Coordinator to provide portfolio analysis and respond to internal and external informational requests for the region and Special Assets Portfolio
    • Active ongoing communication with other Independent Risk areas, including, but not limited to, Wholesale Credit Risk, Fundamental Credit Risk, Risk Governance, Enterprise Risk, etc.
    • Ongoing communication and partnership with internal functions (Business, Finance, Operations, Internal Audit, Compliance)
    Key Responsibilities:
    • Lead Governance contact for the Special Assets ASPAC Head
    • Responsible for the assignment and maintenance of account allocation within Special Assets
    • Tracking processes, ensuring consistency, and adhering to policies. Processes include, but are not limited to, tracking of timely workflows such as Assessments, Criticized Credit Memos, and Valuations.
    • Coordinate Quarterly Portfolio Reviews in partnership with SA Transactors and VCAT member to analyze portfolio data, trends, movements and material exposures to the Region Head and Global Head. Analyze portfolio data to identify emerging industry and regional trends in Special Assets portfolio to produce presentations for quarterly meetings
    • Prepare and coordinate monthly High Risk Reviews for the region
    • Produce presentations, liaise independently with internal groups, and represent Special Assets Governance within the Region
    • Review, disseminate, co-ordinate and monitor requests for information relating to the classified portfolio from internal and external stakeholders
    • Partner with the Global SA Governance Team to facilitate Manager s Controls Assessments including the Quarterly Risk Assessment and Annual Risk Assessment.
    • Monitor controls within Special Assets MCA
    • Lead and participate in projects across Global Special Assets, with a focus on system implementation, Institutional, Commercial and Private Bank integration, among other projects across the Wholesale Credit Risk organization as necessary.
    • Work with the Special Assets ASPAC Head, the Special Assets Global Head and the Special Assets Governance Head on ad hoc requests and projects
    Qualifications and Competencies:
    • Bachelor s degree required, preferably in business, finance or related field
    • Experience in complex, matrixed organizations focused on governance, controls, risk management
    • Highly proficient data in PowerPoint, Excel and data management and analysis with a strong attention to detail
    • Preferred Prior Experience: Project Management, Credit Risk, Risk Reporting, Finance
    • Preferred experience with Citi s systems, such as CitiRisk, Facility Management, Optima, etc
    • Direct work experience in a credit risk-related field is preferred but not required.
    • Strong work ethic with a keen ability to identify and bring teams together to complete deliverables
    • Ability to thoughtfully, and succinctly, convey information to senior management
    • Ability to work under tight deadlines and multi-task across multiple deliverables and prioritize accordingly
    • High degree of partnership and executive presence
