Job Description

You ll work in a collaborative, trusting, thought-provoking environment one that encourages diversity of thought and creative solutions that are in the best interests of our customers globally.You will join the SWIFT Infrastructure Team responsible for running the suite of critical applications making up JP Morgan s gateway to the SWIFT financial messaging network. Our secure, high-performance messaging and API applications process millions of messages and trillions of dollars in payments every day and interface with hundreds of internal Line of Business applications allowing them to exchange SWIFT messages with counterparties across the globe.The role aligns into the FileAct InterAct Product group who is responsible for development, build, configure and implementation of Swift product for FileAct and InterAct services. The role requires someone has a good level of SWIFT product expertise and a thorough understanding of SWIFT messaging concepts. Experience of working in an agile/scrum environment, potentially across multiple locations, and with a Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) package are desirable but not essential to the role. Candidates will be expected to perform the all aspects of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), such as testing or application configuration and deployment. The candidate should have a solid foundation in distributed infrastructure and associated technologies such as High Availability clusters.The role will require proficiency in all aspects of software development, including:
    • Reviewing and elaborating stakeholder requirements
    • Designing solutions in a collaborative manner, and in line with defined principles
    • Implement solutions with an equal focus on both functional and non-functional requirements
    • Understand operational processes in order to provide solutions which improve operational efficiency
    • Participate in a Rota to provide 24/7 third line support for resolving critical application failures
    Key Responsibilities:
    • Configuration and Implementation of Swift product for FileAct & InterAct services.
    • Development and maintenance of internal components, wrapper and reporting scripts.
    • Automate Testing and Deployment of current and next versions of application
    • Solid analysis and problem solving skills to provide production support and L3 cover
    • Develop and maintain positive working relationships in the team and with business colleagues
    • Demonstrate initiative, be positive and proactive; make suggestions for improving ways of working and enhancing your customers experience
    • As a member of the team you will be expected to use your experience and knowledge to improve productivity and process through collaboration with team members and other JPMorgan staff
    Essential Technical Skills:
    • Extensive experience working in a financial services environment.
    • Exposure to Payments & Clearing, Financial Messaging (SWIFT).
    • A good technical background in the use of Oracle, Unix/Linux, Shell Scripting, MQ and middleware.
    • Development experience in Core Java and Python required. Knowledge of XML libraries.
    • Good understanding of implementing 3-tier architectures, end user applications, data feeds, and aggregation services.
    • Good understanding of High Availability and Disaster recovery technologies
    • Understanding of testing methodologies and lifecycles
    • Good understanding of development tools: source code control software, automated build, automated testing and JIRA/GreenHopper task tracking
