Job Description

    *#ASIAID
    • RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Provide general contractual support for regional projects; support and assist the business operational units on all matters of a contractual nature.
    • Carry out reviews of Jacobs Contracts to help Project Managers understanding contractual risks and areas of adherence, including notice, payment and insurance provisions.
    • Prepare templates and procedures to support consistent delivery and contract administration practices.
    • Advise on contracting strategies and practices to ensure Project Managers and Designated Project Executives adopt sound controls and accountability in pursuit, delivering and closeout of project to agreed targets.
    • Write contractual letters, variations to the scope of services, cost claims and justification for extensions of time.
    • Act as member of Jacobs People and Places Team based in the Middle East region for planning, development and execution of client and internal services.
    • Act as subject matter expert for contract affairs.
    • Assume responsibility for assigned Projects including contracts, procurement and delivery management.
    • Assist the regional leadership team in development of prime contracts and perform post award contract administration for prime contracts.
    • Manage compliance of corporate requirements and governance and coordinate with representatives of other functional groups and other project and stakeholders.
    • As part of the Middle East Regional Team, work to development procedures and best practice relating to Contracts and Contract Administration Management.
    • Assist in the planning, scheduling and coordination of Business readiness activities.

    • Assess risk exposure, provide contractual advice and draft letters in defense of threatened claims against Jacobs or facts/circumstances which could lead to an insurable claim.
    • Assist the Regional Commercial Director to apply functional oversight during the pursuit, initiation, planning, execution and closeout of contracts within the region.
    • Contract Management: FIDIC suite of Contracts (Preferred to be trained or with a track record of experience)2. assist in constructing various types of claims (e.g. Extension of Time, Prolongation etc.) mainly by helping with drafting the narrative/write-up and basis of the claim. This will require them to have a track record of working on claims in his/her previous roles and demonstrates a very strong command of English.3. A basic understanding of common delay analysis and the impact of change on design and construction projects. The candidate shall be able to dissect various events for the purposes of assessing entitlements4. Ability to have forensic analysis and evaluation to collect relevant records to support the claims and defend claims against Jacobs.5. Understanding claims and dispute evaluation quantum6. Very strong communications skills and reporting since the candidate will prepare, brief and advise on the claims and the progress he/she is working on.7. Time Management is key as it is expected that the candidate may be shared resources between multiple sectors.

    • A minimum of 5 -10 years experience in contracts management with client facing roles.
    • Experience and a good level of understanding of Engineering & Construction (E&C) industry practices in tendering, award and administration of construction and engineering service contracts
    • Project (site) experience in contracts management and administration preferably in major capital development programs
    • A preference for having exposure to working in the Middle East
    • Bachelor s degree in Procurement, Legal or Quantity Surveying is preferred
