Assure synergy between software and hardware architecture to maximize that relationship. Determine and develop architectural approaches and solutions, conduct business reviews, document current systems, and develop recommendations on how to proceed with the applications. Responsible for ensuring optimal application and system performance.Essential Functions
• Collaborates with clients, senior management, and other functional areas to plan, design, and implement information systems and updates within established guidelines and objectives, with issues and factors largely undefined. Studies client needs, analyzes existing systems, identifies gaps/risks, proposes an architecture model, and recommends short/long term actions based on best practices. Implements, a hardware and software infrastructure that renders reliable, scalable, and operable products and platforms.
• As the Subject Matter Expert (SME)researches and evaluates new technological advances in the external technology marketplace to assess current practices for compliance with information systems requirements. Anticipates and develops solutions to address current and future information system needs. Creates process improvements and controls. Serves as the SME in the Request for Proposal (RFP) and vendor selection process for the purchase of software systems. Assesses impacts on the budget and technical requirements associated with implementing new system technologies or upgrading existing system technologies.
• Provides strategic guidance to senior/lead developers, management and other functional areas to ensure new development is consistent with existing applications, assess information system needs and requirements, and recommend possible alternatives to meet information system needs. Facilitates capacity planning. Remains apprised of project status and communicates issues and resolutions on potential problems.
• Oversees and provides expert advice in the evaluation of software programming and modification ensuring adherence to required procedures, methodologies and/or application standards, including Payment Card Industry (PCI) and security related compliance. Monitors the maintenance of information systems to maintain optimum system capacity levels. Coordinates and monitors the troubleshooting of information systems. Establishes a communication plan to alert users of problems and resolutions.
• Solicits feedback from internal customers and IT teams to understand how well information systems are serving customers and recommends improvements.
Skills/technical knowledge
• 14 years of strong development background in Java/J2EE Technologies
• Strong experience in Core Java, Advanced Java, Design Patterns, Algorithms, Session Management, OOPS concepts, data structure, Collections, interface, multi-threading & MVC
• 3 Strong experience as a Technical Architect/Solution Architect Java/J2EE technologies
• Proficient in building API s and web services (SOAP and Restful) & integrating with external applications
• Proficient in JAVA 8(Lamda, Streams, DateTime API etc.)
• Proficient in Spring Framework(Spring Boot, Spring Security)
• Experience in application server(e.g., Apache, Tomcat, JBOSS)
• Experience in build tool (e.g., Maven, Gradle etc.,)
• Proficient in Code repo management, branching strategy, Version controlling using GIT, VSTS & Teamforge etc
• Developing an application using Eclipse IDE or IntelliJ is preferred
• Expert in queue optimization and configuration for high throughput for request-reply pattern and single and federated cluster management
• Excellent knowledge of Relational Databases, SQL & JDBC drivers
• Experience in Google cloud platform - GCP Pub/Sub, Datastore, BigQuery, AppEngine, Compute Engine, Cloud SQL, Memory Store, Redis etc
• Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills with an ability to manage competing demand
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written; should be able to collaborate across business teams (stakeholders) and other technology groups as needed.
• Experience in NO-SQL databases
Preferred/good to have skills
• Strong experience in administration and setup of any Message Broker like IIB, RabbitMQ etc
• Experience with API Gateways - Datapower, APIM , Apigee etc
• Exposure to Payments industry
