The Intermediate level, under moderate supervision, analyzes, designs, creates and implements databases, including access methods, device allocations, validation checks, organization and security. Designs data models, logical and physical databases, data dictionaries and schemas. Assists in systems planning, scheduling and implementation. Initiates corrective action to stay on schedule. Installs, upgrades and tests moderately complex database software. Develops and implements database recovery plans and procedures.
Position Summary
Wolters Kluwer India Pvt Ltd (Pune) has a need for a Senior Database Analysis Developer for our Pune Global In-house center (GIC). Broad expectations from this role are as follows:
Technical Experience:
Experience in SQL Server is a must. Experience in MySql, Oracle and other DBs will be an added advantage.
Experience in SQL query tuning, optimizing SPs and functions.
Know how to get data from different sources like DMVs, XEvents and plan for SP optimization changes
Analyze deadlock graphs and fix.
Strong time management skills and excellent organizational skills with ability to juggle multiple demands without missing deadlines
Should be able to write, understand and fix complex SQL queries
Experience on various monitoring tools, corelating and analyzing test results to logical conclusions
Good communication skills and attitude
Experience
6+ years of total experience in Database, mainly SQL server and relevant experience in Performance optimization of DB queries
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Work on new SPs, functions and triggers when required.
Go through SQL plans, deadlock graphs from production and check for possible issues/fixes.
Provide guidance and support to Application Developers.
Participate in SQL code reviews
Write, understand and fix complex SQL queries
Technical troubleshooting and guidance to peers and juniors.
Mentor and guide team for new technologies, troubleshooting and analysis
Review test results and establish hypothesis to draw conclusions by providing in-depth result interpretation.
Stakeholder collaboration and communication.
Forecast application changes that affect scalability and capacity of production systems and suggest remediation steps.
Log and track defects, support triage
