Job Description

    1. Direct, monitor, control and report to the VP-Operations for all manufacturing activities toensure that they are appropriately performed and employees engaged therein are motivatedand trained to carry out their responsibilities to the required standards.2. Ensure manufacturing of parts/components & Die Assemblies as per specification & productionschedule.3. Review the drawing and specification from design dept., guide the team for programming andmanufacturing.4. Identify tooling requirements based on production schedule given by planning& keep necessarytools in stock in close coordination with Tool crib.5. Monitor & review cost of tooling on monthly basis. Keep records, analyze consumption & takeappropriate actions to reduce the cost.6. Assist Planning department in identifying raw materials, ensure that received raw materials arechecked against material requisition slip. Work in close coordination with planning departmentto ensure timely availability of raw materials.7. Maintain daily machine job planning based on the production schedule and availability of rawmaterial.8. Ensure availability of program for all the parts to be manufactured on CNC machines. Evaluateopportunities to optimize programs to reduce machining time & increase productivity.9. Ensure job set up verification by each operator before starting manufacturing.10. Ensure that in-process & final inspection is carried out by QA against relevant documents (e.g.Specifications, drawing) at appropriate stages during process.11. Monitor, analyze & control rejection of in-house manufactured parts/components and takecorrective actions to prevent its recurrence. Ensure proper communication regarding defects,customer complaints to all concerned and maintain records of rejection in SAP.12. Ensure proper identification, storage & preservation of components to prevent deterioration. Atevery stage of manufacturing processes, raw materials/parts/products shall be appropriatelyidentified.13. In case of any non-conformity observed during the inspection, ensure concession procedure isfollowed if part can be used without jeopardizing quality, safety and reliability.14. Ensure that non-conforming product or materials are clearly marked and stored separately inrestricted areas. Subsequent actions such as rework or rejection should be taken within twoworking days.15. Ensure that Production details are maintained and updated in Operator log book and SAP.16. Ensure that components are sent for job work (e.g. Chrome plating) on time & received on time.Maintain log of job work.17. Coordinate with maintenance department for breakdown maintenance and preventivemaintenance to ensure trouble free operation of machines. Register of each machine to bemaintained and verified.18. Develop & implement concept of TPM to ensure long life of assets. Deploy best manufacturingpractices & methods (Lean manufacturing, SMED, 5S)19. Develop, monitor & update skill matrix of the department20. Ensure 100% compliance of SAP & 5S.21. Ensure that all employees maintain 5S & adhere to safety rules & regulations of the company(e.g. use of PPE)
