Job Description

SAP Basis L1 JD

  • Ready work in 9*6 service window
  • He / She shall provide hands and feet, support required for business critical activities.
  • He shall proactively look at system performance, EWR reports, storage utilization and come up with recommendations before severe system issues happen in consultation with Service NXT team.
  • He shall be responsible & care taker of all docs related to BASIS activities, ensuring backups at regular intervals.
  • He shall be responsible for & driver of BASIS, SAP administration and entire landscapes health related activities locally at DMart.
  • Starting and stopping SAP instances as per requirements
  • Monitoring availability of SAP instances, Application servers
  • CCMS System Monitoring (General Monitoring Functions)
  • Checking the operating system logs, System Log
  • Output Devices in the SAP Spool System
  • Checking Spool Output Requests for Errors
  • Checking Work Process Status and process loads
  • Checking for ABAP Short Dumps
  • Checking for Update Errors
  • Checking Lock Entries
  • Checking Batch Input Sessions
  • Checking Background Jobs
  • Checking Buffer status and Swaps
  • Checking RZ20 Alert monitor threshold exceptions including page in/out, CPU and memory utilisation
  • Monitoring Offline/ Online backups
  • Monitoring file system and database growth
  • TEMSE Check
  • Monitoring housekeeping jobs like ABAP dump reorgs, spool reorg, and performance collector
  • ABAP dump coordination with the ABAP team of DMart. Coordination would be done by Wipro Team, Driving to be done by the respective System / Server Owners of DMart
  • Monitoring system and database performance like response time, DB time, and hit ratios
  • Checking operating system activity like CPU utilisation, and Paging
  • Locking/ unlocking/revalidating users
  • User password resetting
  • User Maintenance (Wipro shall ensure that users have been created and assigned roles /authorization as per best practices and in accordance with the requests. Wipro shall govern this activity, knowing that any error on this front could be fatal)
  • User creation
  • Copying a user
  • Locking and unlocking users
  • Changing a password
  • Finding a missing authorisation
  • Checking active users
  • Role attachment
  • Deleting old user master records
  • Changing administrator passwords
  • Checking user activities
