Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY We are recruiting a IT Applications Analyst Smart Tools to join our India team based in Pune or Vadodara. This global team provides customer and technical support, through analysis and problem solving, to facilitate installation, implementation, maintenance, education, and documentation of a variety of software technologies. This analyst will initially focus on supporting and developing Hexagon s Smart3D, however it is expected the analyst will develop knowledge of additional applications, resulting in broader growth opportunities. Position Responsibilities

  • Maintain Smart Tool technical environments through installation and administration of the applications, servers, and databases, primarily for the Smart3D environment.
  • Develop new symbols, commands, and utilities for use with the Smart tools, specifically for Smart3D
  • Facilitate and develop program specifications with the design team to provide deliverable code to the Engineering and Design teams.
  • Provide second and third-level support to the Support organization.
  • Work with other Smart Tool analysts and Engineering teams to provide additional testing, training, troubleshooting and documentation as a Smart3D expert.
  • Work with other Smart Tool analysts and Engineering teams to investigate, test, and deploy new integration mapping and technologies to benefit the Engineering community.
  • Document work processes for all levels of Smart3D use and support.
  • Communicate, co-ordinate, document, perform minor project management, and advanced troubleshooting in support of the worldwide support teams.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • A Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent Engineering degree
  • 5+ years of experience in .NET coding for Smart3D or equivalent Engineering Modeling software
  • 5+ years of experience in Engineering or Design development or supporting Smart3D
  • 5+ years of experience using Visual Studio, C#, Team Foundation Server
  • Experience using MS-SQL and/or Oracle queries
  • Experience with a SmartPlant Enterprise integrated applications environment.
  • Experience using or supporting one or more of the following tools: SmartPlant PID, SmartPlant Instrumentation, SmartPlant Electrical or SmartPlant Foundation preferred, but not required.
  • Experience working in a Citrix environment.
  • An ability to independently assess and prioritize competing urgent issues, whilst identifying areas for improvement in design processes and assist in creating and implementing said solutions.
  • General understanding of Information Technology (IT) infrastructure and processes.
  • Ability to effectively work independently and jointly across global, regional cross-organizational team environments and participate in virtual projects, work requests or activities, particularly with design or engineering functions in the process industry for the enhancement of applications.
  • A desire for exposure to new technology opportunities.
  • Good troubleshooting and incident management respective to multiple applications.
  • Client Support experience preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for a global team environment.
  • Strong problem solving customer service skills.
  • Ability to work with outside service/support providers and other third-party vendors
  • A solid understanding of Windows OS.
  • Knowledge and experience using the Microsoft Productivity tools.
