Job Description

    1) Goal of position (Why was this position created )Lead purchasing activities related to Savli plants for rings commodityAssure the proper material supply of all Indian plants with raw material and componentsIdentify and develop local suppliers to reasonably cover local demandsIdentify and implement synergy potential in resp. commodity between respective India plants, plants in the region and global plantsImprove efficiency of the processesBuilding strategic supplier base for commodity covering demands of all India plants.2) Formal prerequisites for the position (e.g. training, experience, education etc.)Degree in Engineering or similarAt least 10 12 years of experience in a similar positionExperience in bearing industry purchasing roleGood experience and knowledge in purchasing affairs.3) Tasks (Description of main tasks) Observe and analyze the market in his country, e.g. he takes care of maintaining the supplier list of the region. regarding his scope of commodities. Set-up the purchasing strategy of his scope of commodities considering the targets of the global commodity management, AP regional commodity management, product line purchasing and suppliers development management; it must comply with the targets set by Executives Management. To achieve the targets / strategies, CM commodity purchase facilitates interaction with business unit purchasing, supplier development management, engineering department and other related functions so as to arrive at clear solution agreeable to all stake holders and meeting the customer requirements Prepare and execute negotiations/ price talks and inform the (global)Commodity Manager and affiliated regional Commodity Managers in India and AP. Handle contracts with the suppliers in co-ordination with the (global) Commodity Management, non disclosure agreements, quality assurance agreements, general purchasing terms, master agreements and others according to regional guidelines and procedures. Handle the exchange of drawings and specifications with the suppliers according to regional guidelines; e.g. using Contract Reviews Constantly improve the material supply chain in co-ordination with Commodity Management, Product Line Purchasing, Plant Purchasing and Supplier Development Management New supplier selection for technology, capacity, cost reduction, localization etc. Report according to the regional reporting guidelines Visit, evaluate and audit the suppliers with the team. Drive cost down projects at the suppliers and involve the appropriate team; e.g. value analysis, decrease of technical requirements Be the focal point of communication for his suppliers /commodities. Also, he leads the task force and executes trouble shooting in case of delivery problems; support in case of quality problems.
