Job Description

  • Manage the engineering of new plastic part, molds and process until to the SOP.
  • Define and implement improvements in materials, designs and processes resulting in measurable improvement of quality, costs and delivery.
Responsibilities General:
  • Maintain quality standards on all products to ensure manufacturing with zero defect methodology including process documentation required.
  • Responsible for plastic part engineering according to the specifications in order to meet the requirement of quality, cost and delivery time for local and global platform (worldwide coordination of mold concept).
  • Provide support on new product launch tooling and process at each milestone through production, providing the manufacturing and engineering inputs for development of new process, parts and tooling.
  • Lead the tooling design and approval process according to the Valeo standards Procedure (RAISE).
  • Identify lean continuous improvement to existing process and tooling related to current product lines with regard to the cost, quality, and/or design.
  • Involve in a global coordination to improve and define standards. Identify and investigate potential new tooling concepts and processes.
  • Apply in his field safety procedure and have a role model in safety rule appliance.
Essential:
  • Design for manufacturing a plastic part, mold and process according to Valeo Production System TPM rules.
  • Analyze new product in order to integrate new components and P2.
  • Support RD CAD designer about plastic part engineering.
  • Involve in Molding FMEA, SPPC definition and tolerances application.
  • Investigate design to cost solutions, identify improvement on part to simplify the machining of tool, optimize molding conditions and reduce cost.
  • Define mold features, size and injection molding machine.
  • Establish request for quotation with preliminary mold design, with tool cost timing estimation.
  • Validate 3D moulds design for Lay-out and mould studies acceptance.
  • Analyse Moldflow simulation results and implement solution in new mould and define molding process window.
  • Manage the technical part and mold tuning loops from Off Tool to Initial samples, manage the molding try outs, to ensure reliable and robust production processes.
  • Support tooling transfer and Start of Production at Valeo or supplier; Establish technical maintenance book.
  • Evaluate toolmaker (current or new) and teach toolmaker about Valeo standards.
  • Capitalize feedback from production and supplier to initiate corrective and preventive actions (cost breakdown, problem solving, trouble shooting ).
  • 5 years in Mold design engineering in technical automotive parts or 10 years in injection molding in technical automotive parts
