Position DetailsPosition Economist for Auto BusinessReports To CFO- AFS and Chief Economist, AFSGradeM BandPlace of Posting KandivaliResponsibilities & Key Deliverables (edited in Sheet 1 - pls see)Business Planning and Strategy ` - forecasting for auto industry - passenger / commercial vehicles ` - market sizing for rural/urban/ state / national geographies ` - identifying key sub-national markets for different automotive segments based on industry trends and macro-economic changes in the Indian economy Industry insights & analysis ` - Macro-economic insights: following key macro-eco trends and data to provide insights on their potential outcomes for the auto industry ` - State level insights: monitoring key variables and indicators to provide views on state level trends for auto demand ` - monthly and quarterly notes and presentations to senior management and business partners on key insights for auto demand across segments ` - Develop data driven analytical models like indices, trend analysis, and other statistical approaches to capture past trends and provide future insights Regulatory and Policy Analysis ` - analyse impacts of regulatory changes and policy implications on automotive industry ` - review and comment on proposed policies and regulations ` - participate and engage with key industry dialogues with Industry Associations Thought Leadership ` - develop a detailed understanding of disruptions in the auto industry ranging from mobility services to electrification and other technologies ` - carry out techno-commercial analysis and provide insights to business on viability of new approaches ` - strategic notes on various auto industry ecosystem issues - financing, urban and rural development, manufacturing value chain, trade related issues, etc. ` - closely monitor macro and auto developments in global markets and provide insights to the business Partnerships and Engagements ` - work closely with other Group businesses on related issues ` - Engagement with external experts/agencies (public/private/influencer platforms) for furthering business objectivesJob RequirementsExperience (years)5-10 yearsIndustry Preferred Any- Manufactuirng / FMCG/ Services preferred; experience in Auto Industry would be an advantageQualificationMA. Economics/MSc economics/ PhD EconomicsCompetenciesSkills and KnowledgeMicro and Macro Economic Research, Sovereign Risk and Report Writing, In-depth knowledge of Industry(s) / Sectoral Research and Cluster Analysis.
