QA Manager

Job Description

Directs and coordinates the planning and execution of various levels and types of software testing for both packaged software and custom developed applications. The role requires an in-depth knowledge of quality assurance leading practices, software testing methodology, and the systems development life cycle.

Defines test strategy, tools, processes and timelines for quality assurance of new and existing products and features Builds, leads and mentors a team of quality assurance engineers; manages QA related activities that may occur outside direct management group.

Works closely and collaboratively with business analysts and developers to establish the process for clear and efficient operations and communications related to overall QA process

Works with the production team to define and implement best practice QA processes, practices and toolsets

Works with project team members to ensure business requirements and/or feature documents are clear, concise, traceable, and testable

Audits systems and business test plans and results

Keeps up-to-date with and implements industry best practices

Possesses a high level of self-direction and accountability (goal-oriented mindset)

Understands/suggests automation approaches used on the projects and is able to provide guidelines in automation strategy as needed for the specific technology stack of the application under tests.

Understands performance testing strategy and partners with performance team to assure the strategy is sound.

Grows and mentors team members in automation, Agile and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CICD) space.

Partners with other project stakeholders across organizations such as development, product management and customer support to align and prioritize quality initiatives.

Understands client issues and drives root cause analysis (RCA) and implementation of processes that will improve quality of releases.

Ensures efficiency, integrity and completeness of tasks related to quality engineering and testing within Agile process.

Plans, promotes, and organizes training activities related to quality and reliability.

Bachelors Degree (four-year college or technical school) Preferred, Field of Study: Information science, computer science, engineering, or a computer science-related field.

3+ years of global, enterprise level leadership experience in Software Quality Engineering.

3+ years of experience managing geographically distributed and offshore teams.

3+ years of proven global Agile/Scrum testing experience.

5+ years working knowledge building out automation frameworks within the Enterprise QA specifically with automation frameworks such as Selenium, WATIR, TestNG, Junit, Cucumber, etc.

2+ years proven experience transforming manual testing teams to high efficiency automation centric software development engineering test (SDET).

3+ years proven experience supporting the creation of and driving automation frameworks to allow for in-sprint automation.

2+ years working knowledge of performance testing.

Preferable to have working knowledge of Dev Ops and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment.

Qualification

Bachelor or Masters in IT
