Job Description

About the role: This Upstream Technical Application Expert role covers the following items, but not limited, Any additional responsibility which benefits organization would be discussed on case basis. Pre Sales - Hunt & drive sales for new business opportunities by using technical & industry expertise to evaluate a customer s process & solutions that address customer challenges; thereby generating sales from existing or new customers in product portfolio (Cell lines, Cell culture media, feeds, and Perfusion device) within a region and/or territory. Work closely with Customer RND / PD team of USP, providing technical consultation and seeding of our USP products.General - Partner with regional sales to close new business by developing negotiation strategies and positions by integrating company strategies and operations, examining risks and potentials estimating customer needs and goals. Responsible for driving USP business for territory /region to meet Annual numbers and objectives. Track customer pipeline /molecule, work with Sales for usage and monitoring of CRM tool SFDC. Customer specific Molecule tracking in terms of Competition landscape.Post Sales - Support technical consultation, tracking of samples and result driven discussion with customer.Networking - Focus on high level networking and drive collaboration with customers RND /PD USP team, consultants and industry opinion leaders.Internal Collaboration - Collaborate with core FM, Manufacturing Sciences, technical marketing, global marketing and strategic sales initiatives team. Work closely with Customer service team for sample inventory management, Order forecasting, delivery &scheduling of ordered products.Sales Target - Share portfolio sales accountability with regional accounts and therefore contributes to meet or exceed sales or order targets and seeding targets for regional accounts.Market dynamics Responsible for analyzing market share and industry dynamics to maintain a strong understanding of industry drivers and trends. Provides input to Field Marketing for new product development. Partner with Sales Senior Leadership to manage resources and time appropriately across the region/territory. Build exceptional relationships with our external and internal customers so that the quotation process is handled effectively and efficiently within the given timeline. Who you are:
    • Bachelors / Master s degree (chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology or equivalent)- Solid understanding of Molecular Biology preferred.
    • Good understanding and knowledge of the biopharmaceutical market
    • Experience of at least 7 to 8 years in the field of R&d & PD handling Molecular Biology / CCM /Feeding Strategy for SUB / Or relevant field of CCM /feed sales within a biopharmaceutical environment
    • Good analytical skills (market analysis).
    • Customer Centric, Results oriented with ability to work with partners to prioritize and manage conflicting expectations. Well organized and self-motivated, ability to work independently. Proven team work and collaboration with internal and external partners
    • Prepared to travel up to 60% of time.
    • Demonstrates project management skills to coordinate with Various cross functional teams to solve customers issues in terms of Technical, pricing and Delivery.
    • Strong negotiation and influencing skills with the ability to leverage decisions at a high level.
    • Excellent presentation skills.
