Imagine working together with other teams to deliver solutions that define how customers interact with Alexa.Quality Assurance Engineers (QAEs) at Amazon test cutting edge applications and products at the user level and code level, both manually and with automated tools. Our QAEs are able to understand software internals, debug problems using log files, and write automated tests with scripting tools and/or user-level automated tools. They work with dev engineers to understand technical implementation and also with Product Management, User Experience, and Customer Support groups to understand customer usage models and develop test plans and suites that approximate real-world environments. Thus drive software development process towards quality-centric methodologies. QAEs at Amazon are excellent at taking-up tasks from start to completion with minimal help. QAEs would be responsible for understanding the domain and the product in detail and coming up with the test strategy/planning, coming up with the test cases, driving the test case sign-off processes with the stakeholders, contributing to code level Unit tests, test execution and reporting. Key job responsibilitiesAs a Quality Assurance Engineer, you will. * Execute test strategy, test plans, test cases as well as utilize automated tools to optimize the STLC.* Perform exploratory testing, automate repetitive tasks and work side by side with software development engineers to deliver high quality product to Audible customers.* Review user interfaces for conformity and functionality.* Efficiently execute test cases across all functional and UI areas of our products.* Define test plans, test suites, test cases as well as utilize automated tools to optimize the STLC.* Find, isolate, document, regress, and track bugs through resolution.* Measure, interpret and report testing results, and be a vocal proponent for quality in every phase of the development process., BS degree in computer science, computer or electrical engineering, mathematics or equivalent experience. 3+ years experience in creating, managing and implementing test plans 3+ years experience automating test cases using at least one language - Java, C#, Python Scripting experience using Perl/JavaScript Understanding of QA processes and concepts including test case preparation and testing methodologies Experience generating and communicating development metrics Experience working with product owners defining and refining user stories Experience testing and writing acceptance criteria for user stories in an agile development environment (e.g. SCRUM/XP/Kanban) Experience working closely with development and business teams to communicate problem impacts and to understand business requirements. Strong organizational skills, tracking multiple test executions simultaneously and are able to synthesize the results. Shows creativity and initiative to improve product test coverage and effectiveness. Experience in a senior IC or lead role in Quality Assurance or Quality Engineering or Software Testing. Comfortable communicating cross-functionally and across management levels in formal and informal settings. Experience developing in a Linux environment and in utilizing virtual machines. Strong sense of ownership, customer focus and ability to dive deep into details
