Software Quality EngineerPosting Location : Location IN-BangalorePosting date 2 days ago(9/30/2021 8:04 AM)Job ID 90022 Workday ID R-015823 Job summary The Red Hat Quality Engineering (QE) team is looking for a Software Quality Engineer to join our Red Hat Cloud Virtualization and Data Services QE Test team in Bengaluru, India. In this role, you will perform end-to-end validation of the entire offering within our extensive portfolio of innovative storage and virtualization technologies in an automated way. To do so successfully, youll need to be an expert in the offering architectures, how they integrate with other solutions, and the ways theyre used by our customers. As a Software Quality Engineer, you will serve as a go-to person for the core functionality of cloud storage within Red Hat. This is a great opportunity to make significant contributions and improvements to Red Hats QE processes and infrastructure as well. Primary job responsibilities

  • Define test automation scenarios, plan, and procedures; develop automation modules and enhance framework for new feature automation support
  • Analyze requirements, functional specifications, and service test scenarios
  • Investigate and recommend test architecture and related infrastructure pieces to support the QE methodology, process, and procedures
  • Collaborate with others, both within an immediate team and with peer teams
  • Analyze customer feedback and enhance test coverage by automation
  • Present knowledge sharing sessions and guide other team members
  • Provide accurate and timely status of automated testing efforts and quality statistics to the engineering team
  • Apply your solid understanding of test automation technology; any knowledge of frameworks related to the storage domain is a plus
#LI-DNI Required skills
  • Bachelors or masters degree in IT or computer science or electrical or electronic engineering with 3-6 years of related experience
  • Expertise in programming tools and languages like Python or the Robot framework
  • Solid understanding of and direct experience with the Linux environment
  • Domain expertise in storage-related technologies, including block-level storage and filesystems
  • Familiarity with container technologies, Docker, Kubernetes, or human-computer interaction (HCI)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience testing the performance of RESTful APIs
  • Experience handling test data in various formats (JSON, XML, CSV, etc.) while understanding data storage, encoding, encryption, data transformation, and related concepts
  • Experience with continuous integration (CI), Git, and automation frameworks
  • Experience with project management tools like Jira
The following are considered a plus:
  • Background in test-driven development (TDD) or agile methodologies
  • Prior experience with testing software-defined storage offerings like container solutions, Red Hat OpenShift, Kubernetes, or Data services
  • Familiarity with open source offerings and technology
