MTS USE-CASE VERIFICATION ENGINEER (DRIVERS) The Role: AMD Embedded Driver verification team is currently looking for engineers who are passionate about and would like to be part of our leading product journey to greatly impact the market. Our team is dedicated to qualifying and deploying Drivers, supporting to tackle Driver-related issues, and building the groundbreaking products that seek tomorrow s challenges in today s data-driven world. The Person: A successful candidate will employ proven solid Driver technical knowledge, strong multi-functional communication, and well-honed organizational skills with logical thinking to ensure on-schedule, defect-free customer Driver solutions. A candidate must be self-motivated and possess the technical proficiency and interpersonal confidence to represent verification ideas technically clearly.A self-starter with the ability to execute complex test plans independently and collaborate with others to resolve problems found. • Drive the planning, validation, and debug of various hardware and software components of SoC for upcoming AMD products, while working with software team and other validation team members
• Define and execute end-to-end test plan and validation strategy
• Lead collaborative test approach with multiple teams, and tracking test execution to make sure all features are validated and optimized on time
• Develop knowledge of system architecture, technical debug, and validation strategy
• Drive technical innovation to enhance AMD s capabilities in software validation including tools and script development, technical and procedural methodology enhancement, and various internal and cross-functional technical initiatives.
• Understand HW IP components and their corresponding driver details
• Craft and develop use-cases based on the requirement and then map use-cases to executable test cases
• Software testing creating and execution, debugging and detailed & timely reporting
• Maintain verification test database.
• Investigate project roadmaps and product technical documentation to understand software impact. Translate these requirements/impacts into executable task plans.
• Accountable timely test result.
• Interface with management and off-site teams to co-develop the complete product validation solution.
Preferred Experience:
• Preferred 12+ years of commercial software test experience required.
• Experience with x86 architecture and system software verification
• Experience in key IP components such as security, power management, IO interfaces, and memory (not limited to DRAM architecture, PCIE, SATA, USB, multiprocessor systems, power management and system management)
• In-depth knowledge verifying graphics driver modules including displays, multimedia codecs (H265, H264, VP9), video playback
• Preferred experience in storage and networking use-cases, not limited to NVMe, SATA, Ethernet
• Experienced in crafting test plans & coverage
• Hardware knowledge desirable
• Shell or Phyton scripting skill is an added advantage
• Strong analysis and problem-solving skills.
• Fluent in both written and spoken English.
• Ability to work optimally within a highly collaborative environment with colleagues around the world.
• Self-Motivated with strong passion for learning.
Academic Credentials:
• Bachelors/master s in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical/Electronic Engineering preferred.
