Job Description

    Computed Tomography (C.T.) Technologist is a highly skilled professional who uses specializedcomputerized x-ray equipment to produce cross sectional images of the human anatomy which aidradiologists in diagnosing a wide variety of diseases and disorders.Use CT scanners to produce cross-section images of patients internal organs and tissues for diagnosis of medical issuesArea of computers and cross sectional anatomyOperate CT scanners and associated equipment safely and in accordance with established policies and practicesPerform diagnostic CT scan of all patientsUse Computerized Tomography scanners to diagnose patients medical issues by producing cross-section images of internal organs and tissuesAdjust patient positioningPrepares patient for radiological procedure by positioning patientMaintains production and quality of radiographs by following established standards and proceduresDetailed patient historiesDuties1. Operate head or body x-ray scanners which create a computer generated cross-sectional image,commonly called a CAT (Computed Axial Tomography) Scan2. Responsible for educating and preparing patients for their examinations3. Provide patient care that is essential to the performance of a variety of procedures4. Take patient medical history before an exam5. Position patients so desired anatomy will be demonstrated6. Determine and set appropriate technical parameters to accurately demonstrate anatomy andpathology7. Assume responsibility for the safety, mental and physical comfort of patients8. Supervised by a board certified radiologist but afforded a great amount of independence andresponsibilityQualifications1. Able to operate sophisticated computer equipment2. Strong interest in scientific and technical skill and knowledge3. Able to interact compassionately and effectively with the sick or injured4. Able to communicate effectively5. Able to perform well independently6. Able to follow detailed instructions7. Exact and precise8. Highly self-motivated
