Job Description

    OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
    • In charge of Warehouse area supervisors and/or Logistics operators (Alstom employees or external provider), taking care of the design, Planning, Implementation & execution of physical and information / system flow across the Warehouse including Packaging, Methods & Logistics through Cross Functional / Supplier engagement. Should lead & drive the team to deliver Supply Chain Industry 4.0 Initiatives.
    RESPONSIBILITIES: Main responsibilities:
    • Ensure that employ es op r tes in an environnent that complies with company Health, Safety and Environmental policies:
    • Know and follow all safety, environmental and emergency procedures
    • Respect the safety conditions & organize trainings to the team on how to handle goods, trolleys etc. in safe manner
    • Actively participate in all aspects of safety including reporting of near misses and meetings
    • Solve of all safety, site keeping or maintenance issues that are found during inspection that require assistance
    • Ensure the storage of materials, guarantee the quantities stored and the correct storage conditions.
    • Ensure the material availability, integrity & delivery on time on production line
    • Manage the physical material flows (reception, put away, kitting, mirror area, shipping) to always keep physical and system flows aligned
    • Ensure the ERP solution is implemented and correctly used by Logistics operators
    • Work closely with Warehouse Key User to manage the stock in the ERP system according to the core model and to train Logistics operators
    • Monitor & challenge the performance of each warehouse activity through Key Performance Indicators
    • Apply the inventory process in compliance with Alstom standard rules (DOA, instruction)
    • Actively contributes to the Continuous Improvement activities & APSYS roadmap and leading deployment of all Alstom programs related to Logistics on his own site
    Management:
    • Provide a long-term vision to the team, set yearly objectives and targets, support and coach in achieving these targets and objectives, perform performance appraisals, reward and recognize merits, set and follow up team members development plans and induction program for newcomers
    • Ensure Logistics Operators follow ALSTOM warehouse processes
    • Manage Logistics Operators & aligned team members activities to the warehouse workload
    • Manage 3PL and logistic partners (manage costs, budget, invoices; define targets, monitor activities )
    Operational activities:
    • Define the warehouse layout and optimize the storage space (layout, warehouse sizing, slow moving stock / scrapping process, )
    • Put in place mirror area in the warehouse to optimize line feeding activities (Kanban flow, sequence, )
    • Plan and manage material receipt, inbound transportation, stock entry, picking and kitting, line feeding, packing, shipping, outbound transportation, inventory accuracy, scrap process
    • Respect any specific storage regulations (chemicals, battery, )
    • Secure inventory accuracy and organize physical counting activities (both cycle counting and wall to wall)
    • Ensure the continually improvement of the warehouse organisation & processes
    • Quarantine non-conforming material and follow up non-conformity resolution
    • Analyse the Root Causes of any logistic issues and agree with the internal stakeholders on corrective actions. Follow up on these actions and participate in their realization
    Packaging & Methods
    • Ensure PFEP for entire BOM. Every part has to have an approved PDS, Storage & Handling standard
    • Implement optimized Eco friendly Packaging solutions that saves on cost, space & meets JIT/ standard Inventory norms
    • Drive Implementation of Returnable Packaging, FLO5, FLO7, JIT, Direct to Line Packaging & reduce in site Inventory for all Local parts
    • Drive 3PL Milk run optimizing Freight, Inventory & Packaging costs
    In case of 3PL (logistic activities totally or partially outsourced): Main responsibilities (towards 3PL):
    • Ensure that the 3PL and his employees operates in an environment that complies with Alstom s Health, Safety and Environmental policies.
    • Ensure that the 3PL works according to the conditions and service levels agreed in the contract.
    • If the 3PL works in Alstom s ERP, ensure that is correctly implemented and used by the 3PL
    Participate in all monthly, weekly, and daily meetings with the 3PLManagement (towards 3PL):
    • Manage 3PLs that are in charge of the external stock (KPIs review, steering committee, monitor activities )
    Operational activities (towards 3PL):
    • Guarantee follow-up and performance of 3PL activities through KPIs
    • Analyse the Root Causes of any logistic issues and agree with the internal stakeholders and the Management of the 3PL on corrective actions. Follow up on these actions and participate in their realization
    Qualifications & Skills: EDUCATION
    • B.E/ B.Tech
    • Specialization / Diploma in Supply Chain
    • Industry 4.0 expertise an added advantage

    • Good working Knowledge of Alstom Tools-SAP GSI, Kinaxis, ASCOT, Qlik sense, GSI BI etc.
    • Production Planning, Procurement Planning, Warehouse Management process
    • Analytical, Problem Solving & Decision Making
    EXPERIENCE / SKILL SET
    • Overall 15-17 Years Experience in Supply Chain.
    • Should have good hands on experience in implementing Material Flow systems, Packaging Standardization & Logistics optimization. Preferred Manufacturing Plant / Program Launch exposure.
    • Experience of minimum 2-3 years in a management position leading a team
    • Industry 4.0 expertise an added advantage
    • Language Skills: Proficient in English Fluent, Tamil appreciated
